Carlsbad By The Sea Hotel

6/10 Okay

"Under construction, so lots of stuff going on. Check-in was in a hotel room because the lobby is closed. We did get there a little early but weren't able to check in since our room was not cleaned, so we went back at 4:00 and it was still not ready, they didn't have a time frame on how long we would have to wait so we took another room. Room was clean but had one dirty towel in there and no toilet paper. Luckily I had brought a roll because I don't normally like hotel toilet paper. The pool looked good and the courtyard looked good. The best part about this hotel is the location, right across the street from the company stores and right in the same parking lot as a food court. I know it was recently sold the Marriott and they're fixing it all up so it could be really nice later. But I'll bet a lot more expensive."

Pala Casino Spa And Resort

10/10 Excellent

"The stay at this casino was great! Starting from the checking in process with very little wait time in line. The casino was clean and with many options to be entertained such as the lounge area and live music to restaurants and cafes. The pool area is definitely the spot to be at during the day with more than 4 pools to choose from and attentive servers that are available to bring you what you need. The rooms do need more lighting in the restrooms and tall mirrors. Over all I give it a 5 stars because it's clean and the staff were always available to help."

"Carpets were dirty and stained, walls had scuffs on them and furniture was damaged. A/C barely worked and when I asked for someone to check it I was told this was energy saving option. Reservation was for four people, yet there were only three towels in the bathroom and two bottles of water. Lights were so dimmed you could barely see at night and some of them didn't work. Upon check-in I was invited to sign a document declining housekeeping services since we stayed three nights. Not a four star experience for sure."

"I was expecting something special when I booked this stay. It was OK… Certainly not special. The room was OK, not as nice as the price point would suggest as the suite’s furniture was shabby and worn. I have had better bedding at roadside motels at less than 1/5 the cost than the bedding here. It felt like sleeping on a piece of plastic and smelled like cheap deodorant. The spa was great, food was good, and staff was great. Early morning walks allowed for some great birding! Our “villa” had a washer and dryer! Our villa also felt like we were trapped in a cave, complete with the smell of mild mold. Additionally, I expected to see original art, not stuff hanging off walls that looked like it was purchased at a discount used furniture store. The carpet, especially the outdoor carpet, needs replaced. There are much better values out there, not sure I want to return."

Постельное белье из искусственной ткани (при чём из разной). Подушки жавно нужно поменять, их наполнение сбилось в комок. В номере нет коврового покрытия. Часть номеров выходит на сторону трассы, от которой шумно и днём и ночью. Останавлива"
