La Jolla Shores Hotel

"To celebrate our 30th anniversary, we stayed here a full week. First of all, we appreciated how we got this great ocean-view room on the second floor, with close access to the beach. This room really made our beach trip easy-breezy! We also appreciated how we were able to check in a bit earlier. The hotel itself was a bit outdated, but ideally situated, right in front of La Jolla Shores Beach...and offered walking access to some nice restaurants. The main problem we encountered was basically this non-viewable TV, where the color was so saturated that everyone on the screen was either dark orange or brown. Given the condition of the TV, we basically didn't watch any TV for a week. Also, the A/C system was a bit weak....as the room never really felt too cool. Luckily, the weather was so nice during the week we were there that this wasn't a huge problem. Lastly, we had some issues with maid service...especially on Friday, 9/18th. Despite our request, the maid came really late, and did a lousy job. Didn't even pick up any dirty cups, no vacuuming, etc.etc. The thing we absolutely loved about this hotel was the easy beach access. Also, the view from our room was amazing! We were even able to see the sunset from our balcony. We also loved the patio dining/drinking area, from their Shores Restaurant. Overall, this was truly a great, memorable stay!"
