With the exception of no hot water and some crazy lady singing on the property next door at 10:45 pm, the hotel and room had a nice vibe, very comfortable pillows (a major plus for me!) a nice lobby bar and great bartender, Julio. The location was great, too.

I travel to South Beach often, however this was my first time staying at SJH and it will not be my last. The location is perfect, short walk to the beach, Walgreens and plenty of food options at different price points also available nearby. The main thing that caught my attention from this hotel was the fact they offer beach chairs/umbrella and towels for their guests. This used to be the norm for many hotels in the area, however recently I’ve noticed they no longer do. This alone gets 5 stars. Claudio and Andy, who were on the front desk on our last day, were phenomenal and beyond accommodating to us and ensured that we got to fully enjoy our last day in South Beach. It was an amazing stay from beginning to end.

It’s a pretty good stay! The only downside was some noise from large fans outside the building right next to my room. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby, which is great. Breakfast isn’t included and costs about $15. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean. There’s a small pool, too. The main issue was the AC thermostat—it didn’t work, so I couldn’t adjust the temperature. My room was warm the first night, but a quick call fixed it. The bathroom fan wasn’t working either.

Overall the property was nice and good, you can tell it’s a little old but other than that not super bad. The rooms I had were clean kind of oldish and the bathrooms as well. The place definitely needs a remodel though. The staff was nice, the pool was clean. The are was good, about a 2 minute walk to the beach. Would I stay there again I don’t think so but it was good for the price.
