Best for going to South Beach and during the holidays, joining the events. We were here for the New Year Eve and it was a great spot to stay. The room and service is a bit lacking as it is a antique hotel and most employees seems like speaking broken English. Moreover, they offer room service only every other day.

Simply put, you’re paying for location. This was my second stay. The hotel is older. The beds squeak. The sink drained slowly. It is aged but was clean enough. It was ok enough for me to go for a second stay.

We did not stay there because the floors were filthy, and the place probably had been cleaned and over a year the main hallways in the bathroom for the public.

The elevator did not work. No offer of assistance from staff. Room view was good. Bathrooms in the lobby was not clean and did not appear to be tended to. Staff did not go above or beyond. Not impressed

Hotel is too old. In very poor condition. No elevator. Valet does not handle your car but you pay $40 per day anyway and they're not operated by the hotel. Only 6 parking spaces. Daylight in the room 24/7. Broken fixtures in room. Safe is not mounted to a surface, so cannot be used. Floor was not swept. Room was not clean. Sheets and towels were the only clean things.

Property location was excellent…but the only good thing about it. Right across from South Beach and on Ocean Drive. Our room was on the 3rd floor and the elevator wasn’t working so we had to haul all our luggage up and down all the stairs. We were allowed to check in early at no cost and deposit was waved because of this. Property is old and in need of a full renovation, not just updating. The rooms are tiny, not very clean and very hot. No fans or thermostat to adjust the temperature. The beds were uncomfortable and felt like air mattresses. There was a lot of noise outside from vehicles and other things that we heard all night. We only stayed one night and the price was half the cost or more of other properties on Ocean Drive but I’m unsure if we would stay again.

The room was clean. There was no central air controls in the room. It was hot out and we couldn't open windows either. Staff was not helpful. I ask if we could use One of their fans and he told me no, but there were two sitting behind him not being used. And ask for washcloths, we could not get those either. The beds were very hard and made loud sound when you moved them.

We were not satisfied with our stay. The hotel is much older than what it looks like in the pictures. We completely understand keeping the hotel historic but be honest in the pictures. The room had cracks in the walls and was more outdated than what the pictures presents. The lobby is also not the same as the pictures, there is a section blocked off by a partitioner where they are selling drinks out the window. Check in time was 4 and we understood being told we had to wait however, people came in after us and were given a room; we literally had to wait until 3:50 to get our room although we did arrive earlier. The elevator was broken and that was not disclosed to us previously to arriving to the hotel. No alternative help was provided; we had to walk our luggage to the third floor on our own and was told we weren’t charged an “early check-in fee” as a courtesy of not having the elevator; 10 mins. To check-in is not that early.

The location is the selling point to this rating and the suite we stayed in was huge. We had ocean view room. You can’t get closer to the beach for this price especially in Miami. The room is dated with some of its furniture and the beds are not the best but as I noted above, the location, rooms size and price makes up for it. I would stay again for this reason.

We had a great stay at this hotel! The lovely girl with the beautiful curly hair at the reception was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We arrived early, and she kindly gave us towels so we could enjoy the beach while our suitcases were safely stored in a separate room, such thoughtful service. Our room on the second floor had good air conditioning, and overall everything was clean and comfortable. The beds were pretty good, and we slept well. Family members stayed in a room on the third floor; unfortunately, the WiFi didn’t work well there, which was the only downside. The location is fantastic, and the service truly made our stay special. We will definitely come back to this hotel!

Staff was VERY unhelpful, unfriendly and down right rude. The hotel ran out of toilet paper. The bathroom corners/floor was filthy! Our toilet backed up and the front desk to my husband to go into the hallway and get the plunger that is located at the end of the hallway and unplug it himself. They ran out of beach towels. Horrible smell when you walk in.

Rooms are nice and clean. Room was freezing cold. They were nice and give us extra blanket. Building is old with central AC hence they couldn’t adjust only the room temperature in our room. Elevator was out of order. So if you’re handicapped check first with them. We had to carry our luggage 3 flight of stairs. Nice location close to restaurants.

The hotel is in serious need of updating. The front desk staff were polite. That’s where my good experience ended. The elevator was broken - I’d read about this in previous reviews but I assumed the problem would have been sorted by now! Not the case and we had to drag our luggage up to the third floor. If you book this hotel - assume there is no elevator. Hallways were a preview as to how unkept this hotel is. Musty smells, dirty, peeling wallpaper etc. made our way to our room and was not surprised at how dirty the interior was. Immediately checked for bed bugs and was pleased to discover none. The bedding however was stained and there was something resembling fecal matter or dirt, who knows at that point along the bedskirt. It was along the base so we steered clear (it was obvious that a call to the front desk would accomplish nothing as everything in this hotel was in rough shape and dirty so why bother) The furniture had potential to be cute and eclectic however the severe water damage, broken components and overall maintenance ruined that. My husband showered in this place and noticed pubic hairs left in the sink and around the drain. The caulking around the tub was covered in black mold and the floors in the entire hotel room were absolutely filthy. When we told the front desk they told us they had a new cleaning company and would mention it. It was a horrible experience and this is the first time I have EVER left a review like this. Absolutely do not recommend.
