Hyatt Place Chicago Medical/University District

Hyatt Place Chicago Medical/University District

8/10 Good
"I always book this hotel for ARC (music festival at Union Park) because it is walking distance from the venue (~20 mins). I usually book it two queen beds and it’s perfect for a group of 3 to 4 friends. I love that there’s a sitting area and that the rooms are so spacious with plenty of room for all of our stuff and things. The sitting area is nice for meals so that you don’t have to eat in bed and it’s also great to decompress on the couch after a festival before getting in the shower, that way you don’t have to worry about sitting on the floor as to not get the beds dirty. There is a mini fridge, but no microwave. The bathroom is spacious and the door is a proper door that closes and locks and is not see-through. The building is old and the rooms are a little outdated, you can see where the bathrooms have aged, especially in the tile in the showers. But, the AC works great, the rooms are mostly soundproof, and overall, this is a very functional and comfortable place to stay. If I were visiting Chicago, this location is a little bit far for all of the things that I would want to do in Chicago, but is the perfect location for arc. The only thing I hate though is the elevators. They make you tap your key card and then pick a floor level on a screen outside of the elevators, it’s not a traditional elevator where there are buttons on the inside. It’s a little bit of an inconvenience. Everything else was fine and the staff are very friendly and helpful."

Courtyard by Marriott Chicago at Medical District/UIC

Courtyard by Marriott Chicago at Medical District/UIC

10/10 Excellent
"The staff here are so nice and hospitable. One of the amenities we used a lot was the every half an hour free shuttle to areas within 1 mile from the hotel! The room was spacious though the tub didn’t drain too well so we always had a puddle of water our feet were in at the end of our shower. The doors are also slightly thin, when the room next to us closed their door it sounded like our door which a little startling at times. Overall 8/10 for the staff and amenities."
