It was warm, cosy and comfortable with a nice en-suite bathroom. Great food with vegetarian and vegan option. Very reasonably priced and friendly and helpful hosts, I would highly recommend. 」

The restaurant had a good choice and the chef clearly takes pride in his food- great quality and lots of choice. The breakfast included traditional ootions but also good quality food. We loved the location and would highly recommend the Queens for an overnight or longer stay. We also brought out dog and we were all made to feel very welcome. 」

「Food was cooked to order and every meal was so good. There was plenty of choice and there was no problem when I asked for salad instead of chips. The plates were full of good tasty food. The bed was so comfortable that we slept through the nights.」

「A fantastic stay. The lady who runs Powter Howe could not have been friendlier and was very patient with me on my arrival, including with my sad attempts to get my car into the place! This is a beautiful, proper country house - very spacious room, lovely breakfast. It is very quiet here. The log fire was amazing and it was great to spend a quiet evening here away from it all! I would stay again.」

「The overall status of the hotel is nice, we arrived quite later at 1:00am, but the housekeeping starts knocking doors from 9:30 all the way to 10:40 (about 4 times) to ask people to check out... they really did what their boss told...」
