Perfect for a short stay

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, clean room, nice bar. Only stayed one night as a stop-over on our way up North. Left feeling like we would be happy to stay for longer if we are ever in Gretna again

Outstanding customer service, amazingly friendly staff, extremely pet friendly, fabulous breakfast. In short, there's not enough superlatives to do the Gables Hotel justice. It will be our go to place to stay on trips between Scotland and England

Great little find

Had a one night stay and was really nice. Room was a good size and had kettle with tea/coffee etc We ate in the restaurant and food was well cooked and plenty. The staff were really helpful and they helped my mum who needed a ramp at the front for a wheelchair that they set up for her. Will visit again when up in the area

Good hotel well located

A good hotel in an excellent location close to the motorway. Good dinner and breakfast. The room was in need of a little maintenance and updating but was quiet and comfortable. Good amounts of free parking.

This hotel is a fantastic dog friendly hotel. The staff gave us and our dog such a warm welcome and were so helpful, friendly and hard working. It was wonderful that we could take our dog into the restaurant and had waitress service in the bar area for breakfast with our dog. The hotel is so conveniently close to the motorway but so quiet, really good for breaking the journey to or from the Scottish Highlands, we highly recommend especially to dog owners.

Family overnight stay

We had a lovely overnight stay with a seven and a one year old. The hotel is extremely clean and comfortable, although the room looked a little bit tired. This in no way affected our stay though. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was AMAZING!!! There are shops within easy walking distance as well.

Comfortable and friendly

We enjoyed our stay at The Gables Hotel. We were on route to Skye just a one night stay over with evening meal and breakfast. Both meals were very good. As was the atmosphere. Comfortable beds. Great pillows. Clean and tidy. Staff were all really friendly which were house keeping, reception bar & restaurant. Made us feel very well come.

Nice welcoming hotel and staff

Very nice looking hotel, we had two rooms, one had been updated and the bathroom was modern with a large shower, the other room’s bathroom still had a bath and was a little dated. Breakfast was very nice, good choice of food and drinks and very tasty. Plenty of parking and within walking distance of the outlet village (about a mile away). All staff we met were friendly and welcoming. We would definitely return here.

Nice hotel in a good location.

Enjoyed our two night stay. Hotel is well situated just a couple of miles off the motorway in a quiet location. Very attractive building with large extension at the back in similar style. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. Rooms were quiet and clean. We dined both evenings. Reasonable choice and large platefuls! Waiter did have a tendency to want to clear plates very quickly!

We were met by a member of staff on arrival who has been there for many years and is always very pleasant and helpful with any questions we ask so we’ll done to you we went for breakfast and although the porridge was not to our liking the rest of it was very good and good value for money also the member of staff who served us was very chatty and friendly so we’ll done to you too we will be back again next year as we’ve been visiting your hotel for many years and it’s great value
