No advanced notice that lift wasn't working. No ideal with 2 guest with mobility issues and 3 flights of stairs yo rooms. Also found it odd that there's no secondary glazing for noise in room but yet there was in restataunt.
Breakfast was average but bacon hard and overcookec under heat lights. Didn't have the best of choices. All in all very average stay
The room was great and shower was very powerful.Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Great beers and ciders on draught and in bottles and an excellent cocktail menu.

Bath in room 231 we were stopping in was off the wall with a gap down the back of it, there was no parking available for ourselves and had to park in a public car park, breakfast and staff was great, the lift wasn’t working so elderly people struggled with all the stairs and the bed was not a king size it was 2 singles pushed together with a ridge between the mattresses
Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and enough for a vegan to eat. The hotel was warm and comfortable. There was a very nice Geordie lady meeting and greeting at breakfast. Marmalade was in short supply.
Fantastic location and sense of being in a special place. Room was in annexe but that was fine, just a short walk across car park, and was reasonably spacious with efficient lift. Staff could not have been more helpful whether cheerfully bringing more tea at breakfast or dealing helpfully with enquiries at reception. If coming by car, parking seems tricky. We had to go to nearby paid (£5 for 24 hours) car park but we're fortunate to get a hotel space on day 2. Swimming pool is a great extra facility, especially when quiet

Limited free onsite parking so payed for parking nearby.
When we approached reception to check in member of staff busy on computer, so we had to wait until she had finished rather than greeting us and checking us in then returning to computer!
The hotel was okay but maintenance needs to be improved our remote power button did not work so the only way to turn tv on and off was to use the power socket located behind the wall mounted tv,
The windows in the en-suite were grubby and in need of painting.
We only stayed one night and don’t know about the food.
Great location and loved our stay there. A short 5 minute walk from train station.

Rooms are clean but in need of an update. Staff at breakfast were lovely and very accomodating. No available parking at the hotel directed to nearest paid carpark!!
We’re already planning to return; very impressed with this gorgeous hotel. Beautiful room, amazing power shower. Even oat milk sachets in room. Catered for one of our party who is vegan. Very clean. Was a touch chilly in our room but nothing too troublesome, it was a very cold day. Breakfast was great, lots of veggie and vegan options. Well done.
Helpful and friendly staff. Room was excellent. Breakfast was great and plentiful. 5 minute walk from the train station. Ideal for anyone spending time in Carlisle
