Mackenzie Art Gallery showing interior views and art
Experience the best in Canadian and overseas art, while unleashing your own creativity at this much-loved Saskatchewan museum.

The MacKenzie Art Gallery holds works from Canada’s most influential painters and craftspeople. Featuring an extensive permanent collection, regularly changing temporary exhibits and educational classes offered year-round, the gallery is designed to delight, enlighten and inspire.

The gallery’s permanent collection of 4,000 pieces represents over half a century of collecting. Browse works that range from important regional and Canadian works to treasures from the Italian Renaissance and Middle East. Enjoy the gallery’s temporary exhibitions, which span all eras and genres, from folk to contemporary.

The gallery's Learning Centre provides plenty of activities to help unleash the inner artist. Join an artist-led workshop, attend a lecture in art appreciation or enjoy an art house film. Browse the in-house library with its wondrous collection of artist journals and clippings. Be sure to check the events calendar for lectures, symposiums and guided workshops offered by artists and art historians.

Let the kids loose in one of the hands-on art programs held each summer. After artists teach them the basics, lunch breaks are taken in the leafy surroundings of neighboring Wascana Centre and parents are welcome to come along.

Take a pleasant walk through the outdoor Sculpture Garden. The predominantly abstract sculptures include works from Douglas Bentham, one of Canada’s most famous craftsmen. Download the free MyMacKenzie app to access the self-guided tours of the garden and other exhibitions.

Stop by the gallery store, which specializes in one-of-a-kind ceramics, jewelry and craft items.

Admission to the MacKenzie Art Gallery is free and it is open daily, year-round. The library is accessible by appointment only. Classes should be booked in advance. The gallery is situated in the T.C. Douglas Building, in the southwest corner of Wascana Centre.
