Hotel location was very convenient. However, the room is quiet noisy, emergency vehicles, and drunken people on the street. Dated room facilities, freeze not cold, hard to turn on the tap.

Not a good experience

I came to London with my husband to do the London Marathon. We stayed for a total of 5 nights (through 3 separate bookings). The first 3 nights we booked for twin bed room and last 2 nights we paid for king bed room. Main good thing about the hotel is the location was very convenient for the marathon. I could walk back to hotel after the finish line and the hotel is right next to Charing Cross station which is where the train goes to Blackeath (start line). I have a few unpleasant experiences with the hotel itself: 1) service/ staff attitude - as I booked different room types, I ask them to switch me to king bed room on my 4th night. The staff said I have to stay in the twin room for 5 nights .. I refused, as I paid more to stay in the king bed room .. the staff who helped me checked in then said ok and asked us to pack our bags on 4th day so they can help us switch. On the 4th day we packed our bags as instructed and went to lobby, the staff said room will be ready around 3pm.. when we went back at 3pm, they said we are going back to the same room! We kept complaining and finally they gave us a king bed room… but why do I need to even fight for it?? I paid for it and I am entitled to the room I paid for! The rooms were very noisy… first 3 nights were full of loud drunken people on the street, 4-5 nights were garbage trucks, dumpsters noises fro 4am. On the day we checked out, the cleaning lady opened the door without knocking… Not Good

Room was spotless, staff were fantastic, courteous and friendly at all times. Quick easy check in. Room was spacious and bathroom was clean and well appointed; bath and separate shower with more than adequate storage. Mini bar was well stocked and replenished daily. Quiet despite central location, slept very well. Ideal for walking to Mayfair, Covent Garden, Theatre District, Leicester Square and Westminster.

Overall this was a great stay for family - two adults and a teenager. The hotel is centrally located and an easy walk from some of the main London attractions, the Charing Cross tube station is literally next door. It was about a 40 minute taxi to Heathrow and ran us about $100. The rooms are very clean. We had a king plus a pull out sofa bed (very comfortable, by the way - not like the US hotel sofa beds you might be used to). The bathroom was also fairly big, but the shower/tub combo was very narrow and one of those half glass doors so while water pressure and hot water was plentiful, it was a bit awkward getting in/out. We initially did not opt for the breakfast, but ended up adding it for our first morning. Well worth it. £25 per person but it is a buffet with a lot of options so a great way to start a day of site seeing. Well worth the money.

Location is excellent but mattress is terrible. The mattress was like a slide, it was very worn out. Requested the hotel not to enter my room, and they entered it twice every day without my consentment due maintenance issues, plumbing, sewage, leaks, …. I never reported an issue, but they had an excuse to enter it. Maintenance team went inside my bathroom and closed the door and never saw any repairs. The first day they left a mess in my bathroom, second day they left the shower sewage open, I complained about that, and the maintenance guy told me I could close it. It is not my job to do their job. Restaurant high tea time pretty expensive for the quality. I would not recommend it. Requested two time helps with taxi, they ignored me “ go outside and find it yourself” Manager told me due maintenance issues, she was going to process a partial refund for compensation, never did. Not the worst, not the best. The day I left they did not want to print the confirmation my account/ expenses account was closed. They had a voucher open and did not wanted to print a confirmation it was closed. They blamed Expedia for everything.
