"The views and quality of this agriturismo is simply outstanding. Peaceful and surreal, the view of San Gimigano are amazing. We had a wonderful time. Breakfast options could have been more varied for vegetarians and the staff member who greeted us on arrival could have been a little more welcoming! All other members of staff were outstanding. "The property is absolutely beautiful. It’s peaceful and tranquil. The food at the restaurant is delicious and the breakfast buffet is plentiful with a ton of variety that will suit everyone’s pallet. The staff is very helpful and wonderful and will go above and beyond to make your stay very welcomed and comfortable. They accommodated us even when we were checking out and stored our luggage while we waited to check into our new destination. We were even given little goodie bags. Our room was comfortable and very clean. I can’t say enough nice things about this place. I would highly recommend."

"Breathtaking vistas at every turn, kind and thoughtful hosts who greeted us with fresh cold water and a lovely welcome. Pristine infinity pool, amazing 5 course dinners on a covered terrace. We have traveled extensively and this has been one of my favorite places to stay ever. Rustic, ancient buildings lovingly and carefully restored to retain the character of Tuscany with generous attention to comfort and the joy of life. Donatello and Stephan were the most generous and caring hosts- an unforgettable visit! Everyone they employ to assist in this experience were equally thoughtful and caring! Magnificent!"

"Beautiful 14th century villa in the Tuscan hills with very pretty pool and restaurant areas, and very helpful and friendly staff. The food was hearty and enjoyable, but not the highest standard, even compared to restaurants in the area. It's in a great location for exploring Florence, Chianti region and Siena. The room we used (superior garden view) was good, very interesting features due to the age of the property, with a stunning view. However, it was not very cosy for spending time in and the A/C struggled as well. Overall we were very happy with our choice and had a great stay!"

"We loved this hotel. We were in the area for a sporting event and it was the perfect location for us. The hotel was gorgeous, authentic and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was really good with an amazing selection of cakes, pastries, fruit, cold meats and hot items. The staff were lovely and very helpful and the whole place just had a nice feel to it. Lighting in a bathroom is really important to me and the room we had was perfect. I wish we could have stayed there longer but they were fully booked. Due to that we moved to their sister hotel the Palazzo San Lorenzo for our last 3 nights and unfortunately it just didn’t have the same feel to it. The pool area at the Relais Della Rovere is lovely and very relaxing. It’s great they have a pool bar also. The demographic is very mixed, whereas the Palazzo San Lorenzo is more of an older coach trip crowd. I would definitely stay at the Relais Della Rovere again and recommend it as a good base to explore the surrounding areas and to chill and relax in between."

"I can’t fault the hotel in general, but honestly, it felt a bit soulless. We stayed at the sister hotel Relais Della Rovere earlier in the week and loved it. It felt warm, authentic and welcoming. The bar was by reception and constantly had people in it and all areas of the hotel were charming, whereas the Palazzo San Lorenzo, while impressive looking, lacked character inside despite being an old palace and in an area of architectural beauty/interest. As you are up the top of the old town, although there are some nice restaurants, they all keep strange opening hours/ days and on a Monday there is nowhere in walking distance to get lunch and limited options for dinner on a Sunday. That would have been fine if the hotel had food options, but they only do breakfast (which is very nice ) and then dinner for two hours in the evening. We were expecting Caffe San Lorenzo to do food, but we never saw it open and apparently they don’t do food despite it stating they do on the website. Maybe it’s off season for them, but the website doesn’t give opening times or say what days the restaurant/ caffe Lorenzo are closed. You get two small bottles of water in the fridge in the room daily, but there is nowhere to get any other bottled drinks throughout the day or around the pool unless you drive down to the main town to a supermarket. Whilst a decent hotel, we wanted somewhere to relax and not have to venture far to eat and drink after a busy week previously, this didn’t tick that box for us"

"The property is clean and lovely. It is set in the middle of the Tuscan countryside which is beautiful beyond words. The room was quaint and comfortable and the bed was comfortable. There is nothing close to this place but vineyards and olive trees, so you will want a car. We saw a deer running along the side of the road. The nearest major city is Sienna, which is 15 minutes away and which you do not want to miss seeing. The hotel has a nice restaurant that opens for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but it is only open limited hours, not all day and not late night."
