Great out of the way place

If you’re looking to get away from it all, this is the place for that. Cozy rooms, great dinners out in the garden and a pool with a beautiful view of the county side. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Our favourite spot during our Italy trip. We visited close by towns of Siena and San Gimignano during the day, hit the pool in the afternoon and dined on the patio as the sun went down over the valley.

Beautiful location and hotel. Nice pool with amazing views. Restaurant for dining outside was stunning. Great wine selection. Service is slow but that’s an Italian thing! I would stay here again for sure. Only thing I would change is to add bar service at the pool!!

This small hotel was lovely. The location is remote, but it’s a perfect base for traveling all around this part of Tuscany. The breakfast was wonderful -well worth the extra charge. We had dinner at the property one evening.The setting is beautiful and the food was excellent. The front desk staff was very helpful with anything we needed. I would come here again.

I don’t always write reviews, but in this case I just had to, cause I can’t recommend this absolutely beautiful place enough. I’ve been an avid traveller for 40 years, stayed in plenty of top hotels, and this place is easily in my top five of all time. The surroundings look like a postcard, the place itself is beyond idyllic, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Food was great too, especially the breakfast. The whole experience was magical, romantic and wonderful. Do yourself a favor and stay here. Also don’t miss a visit to the nearby little town of Castillina in Chianti. So cute! Plenty of wineries nearby too, including right up the road, ask for recommendations from the staff. We hope to be back someday!

First of all, the location, the staff and the food were all top notch! I thought it would be the quietest place on earth to get a good night of sleep after the craziness of Rome. Unfortunately there were some dogs barking all night in the field in front of our room and I didn’t get any sleep. Bring ear plugs if you stay there.

This hotel is a paradise for tranquility and peace. Located in an extremely beautiful area with surrounding views of the Tuscan wineries this beautiful, traditional and super clean hotel is everything one needs if they want to detach from the world. Congratulations especially to the cleaning ladies and the people who keep the grounds so pristine. The restaurant people are very nice and the food and wine are delicious… Irine drone reception is the best and oh breakfast is yum!!!

We’ve been touring Italy for two weeks now and the Belvedere San Leonino is by far my favorite of all the wonderful hotels we’ve stayed. Absolutely charming rooms, sprawling countryside grounds and expansive views, friendly staff, and a nice restaurant for dinner. I was hoping the tasting room was on site, but even better, it’s inside the wall of Castellina in Chianti — you don’t want to miss a tasting there! If I find my way back to Italy in the future, I will definitely return to Belvedere! Grazie Mille!

Living the Tuscany Dream

What a great property! We stayed in one of the rooms connected to the main building. We also got to see a room for three. Both were spacious. Decorated in tuscany country style. Bed was comfortable. Each room has it’s own AC. We were there in April so the AC worked great. Can’t speak for summer heat. The views of the Tuscany area were jaw dropping. It felt like we were in a villa not a hotel. Highly recommend. Breakfast was standard euro fare (1000% better than in the U.S.) with meats, cheeses, bacon, an amazing variety of croissants, etc. Pool on site. Restaurant on site that was simply outstanding. We went there several nights and each night had something different and spectacular. Reserve a table in the morning the day of. Easy drive to get here and close to amenities. However, car recommended to get around.
