"This place is hidden gem. Loved it so much we stayed another night. Close enough to the electric railway to give you easy access to the island.. There is NOT a lot going on in Laxey, but that exactly what we were looking for. if you just want to relax and get away. The shore hotel is a great spot"

"Kings House is the oldest guest house in Douglas and Miriam and Robin have taken on a big project to renovate this beautiful house. They are gradually renovating the house so certain aspects have not been completed but this wouldn't put us off returning. Miriam couldn't have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble. "Receptionist on check in was not friendly and did not explain where breakfast was held, breakfast times, if I wanted dinner reservations etc. It was all robotic - sign here and basically give me your payment. So as a first impression from a long journey not great. Room had suitable amenities. Kettle, biscuits, hairdrier. Shower very powerful. Bed comfy. Breakfast good selection. Staff friendly and efficient in the breakfast area. Hotel clean."
