Great lication. Small ryokan with wonderful staff. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with plenty of amenities. Breakfast was delicious and nicely plated. Conveniently located to walk to tourists attractions, public transportation and dining options
Clean room with many amenities. Beautiful natural wood bath. Staff was phenomenal. The food was excellent. This stay has been the highlight of our trip.
The staff, service and food were exceptional. The location was perfect for what we wanted out of a four night stay in Kyoto. But, it was the staff that made the experience memorable. Some of the key spots are just around the corner from the hotel. Given the crowds during the day, it was easy to see them early in the morning or after dinner when the crowds were much smaller. If you are looking for the perfect atmosphere from a traditional small Japanese Ryoken then look no further!
Absolutely phenomenal accommodations! The chef provided a wonderful dinner and breakfast! The room was serene and cozy! We loved our stay! The service was extraordinary!
Service was great and the meals were amazing. Staying in this Japanese style hotel has been a great experience. Best part is the location as it’s in the midst of the historical landmark.
The hotel has very few rooms and is very quiet and has a private feel. The location is steps from ninenzaka and sanenzaka and within walking distance to kiyomizudera. The Gion Starbucks is also very close.
We had the most wonderful 3-night stay at this traditional Japanese inn. We appreciate the warm hospitality of all the front desk and restaurant staff. It made us feel so welcomed at this beautiful boutique inn. The traditional breakfast and kaiseki dinners were delicious and artfully presented. Our tatami bedroom was cozy and offered all the comfort and convenience for our days of exploring Gion. The relaxing in the wooden bath tub was truly a blessing after a full day of sightseeing. Most importantly, the inn’s location really can be beat. Being within only a few steps from the popular spots like Ninnenzaka and Sennezaka paths, Yasaka Shrine, allowed us to stroll around the empty streets during the quiet morning and evening hours. I highly recommend this inn!
This was a very special stay for us. The hotel was in an amazing location, right in the heart of the historical area of Kyoto. The design and feel of the hotel gave a really true luxury royken experience. The food was impeccable and the staff were incredibly polite and helpful. Would highly recommend for anyone who would want to have a traditional experience.
My stay at Yasaka Yutone Kyokoyado was remarkable from beginning to end! From the moment I stepped into the reception area, I experienced impeccable customer service and became immersed in an authentic Japanese hospitality experience. My room was the perfect retreat from a day of sightseeing, especially the cedar bath!! The photos don't do the beauty of this ryokan justice. Everything is thoughtfully designed and placed to make the stay comfortable and culturally genuine. The bed was super comfortable and the linens were soft. The closet was fully stocked with everything I may need: tabi socks, pajamas, and yukatas. I did not have any issues with noise whatsoever—none. My dinner was an 8-course adventure that was both beautiful and delicious! Breakfast was really wonderful as well, though not served in separate courses so it's much briefer to help get the day started. And the location? Pure perfection! The best of Gion is right outside the front door. I had 2 days of sightseeing and never had to take a taxi (though they're plentiful in the neighborhood, if needed). As a solo, female traveler, I felt very safe and well taken care of. I cannot recommend this ryokan enough—and I cannot wait to come back!

What a lovely stay! The service was excellent and the hotel is very charming. Dinner and breakfast are beautiful and delicious.
The location was perfect. Located in the Gion district with temples, shrines, the Hokan-Ji Temple just steps away. The rooms are very nice and beds are extremely comfy. Breakfast was delicious!
My family and I had a wonderful experience staying here. We were warmly received and the hosts were thoughtful and considerate. Everything was very clean and well organized. This ryokan is located on a lovely street, close to areas for shopping and temple visits. We loved our stay here and look forward to returning. Thank you for having us!
Stayed 3 nights with a family of 4 (two rooms) and absolutely loved the whole experience of this intimate scale, modern-yet-authentic Kyoto Ryokan. Great location near Gion district just steps away from Kiyomizu Temple shopping streets, and perfect as a base to explore Kyoto. Friendly and very helpful staff. Japanese breakfasts were on point and bonus points for the service drinks and local treats in the room! Highly recommend if you prefer authenticity over touristy comforts. Read reviews/descriptions carefully to choose the right room/floor.
My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Yasaka Yutone Kyokoyado. We were delayed on our check-in time due to our flight, and they were incredible in accommodating our last minute issues. I was able to reach them and change plans the same day. When we arrived, much later than we wanted to, we were greeted with big smiles and were helped to get settled into our room.
The attention to detail in our room was so thoughtful and beautiful. We loved how quiet and clean the room was. The hotel was small and very private. We really enjoyed the library room downstairs where we could get additional tea and snacks.
Yasaka Yutone Kyokoyado provided incredible breakfast in a beautiful restaurant. The flavors varied and encompassed a wide palette of tastes that really introduced us to Japan. The location of the hotel was fantastic. We were walking distance to a charming and traditional neighborhood in Kyoto. There are many great restaurants and temples walking distance to the hotel in all directions.
If and when I go back to Kyoto, I would stay at Yasaka Yutone Kyokoyado again. I can't recommend it enough.
