great stay in kyoto
The location is prime for this hotel. Easily accessible by buses and hankyu line. Staff at the front desk are helpful and friendly. There are many restaurants near by this location. The room is kinda small but it is okay for 2 people. There is also an onsen on site, dont forget to check it out!

Meh, it was okay. The room was tiny, but clean. The bathroom lighting was harsh (as a girl that matters to me haha). The folks at the desk were nice though.

Rooms were small, which is to be expected in Japan, however they were very nicely laid out and comfortable. Bathroom was still a very reasonable size. Staff were friendly, and service was good. Laundry is available and free to use on the second floor, also equipped with dryers - just get detergent from the front desk. Very close to Hankyu line and Randen stations and very walkable to the middle of Kyoto. Lots of food options even late at night, and close to several convenience stores and drug stores.

Kyoto is my favorite city in Japan, and I've been staying at Urbain for many times whenever I visted Kyoto. It's very convenient to the Hankyu Line, and the hotel staff is very nice, rooms are slightly bigger compared to other hotels, and the breakfast is very fresh and tasty. This hotel is highly recommended.

Very convenient to subway stations and bus routes. This was an excellent base for sightseeing in Kyoto. The breakfast was plentiful with good variety. The hotel is very new so everything is spotlessly clean.

Well appointed, great location with good access to the metro, excellent breakfast- Japanese & western. Rooms adequate in size, clean and fully serviced daily. I cannot fault this hotel and will look forward to returning again in the future.

Very nice, new and clean hotel. Comfortable. Nice and centrally located. Staff didn't speak much English, but were helpful. The hotel breakfast was really good.

We stayed for two nights in a small room with little walking space. The room was clean and relatively comfortable. We had a bit of trouble with the front desk when asking for help to check our shuttle reservation with another company. The representative at the front desk kept repeating "no shuttle bus" without even understanding our situation. We returned later in the evening to ask another representative to help us and did not experience any trouble. Overall, I would stay again.

Good value for money
On the whole a great place to stay, not close to the touristy bits but close to the Metro and the Randen, there are many small restaurants in the surrounding area. Rooms were small but that is the norm in Japan and the room was well fitted out and well thought out to maximise the use of space. Breakfast was simple but great value.

The hotel is in a very good location. About 20 minutes by bus and 15 minutes by train from Kyoto main station. It is very easy to get around to the tourist attractions from the hotel. I absolutely enjoy my stay at the hotel especially with the free laundry facility. Very clean and modern hotel, wide choice of breakfast. The only problem is the language barrier, it is ok with the senior staff but not the rest. We were given the wrong direction many times. It is much better to use google map.

The hotel is located in a slightly out of the way area from most tourist spots in Kyoto. The hotel staff was also not very helpful in advising tourists about how to get around Kyoto to sightsee. Information was especially lacking in English. I am Jappanese speaking & have been to Kyoto before, yet I still felt the staff to be unhelpful. I also was under the impression that I had reserved a room with 2 beds. The beds, however, turned out to be 2 thick foam mattresses on the floor - hard to access with bad knees. They were neither standard Japanese fouton nor standard beds. The room was also very cramped for 2 people. The hotel was clean, well kept & safe, although I would have appreciated a room safe.

The hotel is very clean and tidy, the rooms are compact but comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet is excellent and well worth the ¥500.

Very nice hotel
The hotel is very nice, staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are small but very efficient. Much better layout than in some other Kyoto hotels where we stayed. I liked that the windows open and there is plenty of light but we were on the top floor (8th), so this might not be the case for lower floors. The location is slightly off the touristy area but very convenient transportation to major attractions (tram to Arashiyama is literally across the street, Hankyu line is next door). Breakfast is cheap and good. The only problem was WiFi. If they could fix this problem the hotel would be absolutely perfect. And air conditioner instructions in English would help too.

A nice stay
The facility was really nice and the people at check in were friendly. The rooms were really clean and comfortable. Also the WiFi was really fast which was not the case for our other hotels in japan . It’s about a 15 minute walk from downtown Kyoto which is nice because it a quieter neighborhood but still close to stuff. It’s also right by the public transit.

Very pleasant hotel. Room was very clean and in tip top condition. Particularly there is an abundance of USB ports throughout the room for charging your electronic devices. Buffet breakfast spread reasonably good. Convenient location. Easy access to Shijo Omiya train station and buses.

Hotel with great value
This is my second time staying at the Urbain Kyoto, each time with 5-6 nights ( I just love Kyoto). Hotel is located on the main street full with hotels, but it's on the quiet side, however, there are convenient stores close by. Hankyu Line is also just steps away. The hotel also serves buffet breakfast (with a very reasonable surcharge), lunch, and dinner. The hotel rooms are designed for 2, which means it's slightly bigger compared to those single rooms that other hotels offer. Will definitely come back.

Excellent Value
The hotel was an excellent value for the money. The hotel staff was very friendly and had enough English to communicate well with those in our group who could not speak Japanese. The lobby restaurant served tasty and reasonably-priced meals. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of Japanese and Western dishes. Like most Japanese hotels, the rooms were cramped by U.S. standards but otherwise comfortable.

Nice hotel in central Kyoto
This hotel is located in Omiya, just steps away from Hankyu Line (Railway connects Kyoto and Osaka). Its in a nice and quiet area with convenient stores and restaurants. Hotel offers breakfast buffet(with a surcharge)from 6:30-10:00 with varieties of food selections. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful, it's my 7th trip to Kyoto/Kansai, and I certainly will recommend this hotel to my friends.
