The place to stay in Kuching, Sarawak, Maleisië

Wat een aanrader John's place. Een backpackers kamer 2.0 met hotel allures. Een prachtige pub en restaurant en een loundry plek naast de deur. Alle medewerkers inclusief John zijn super vriendelijk. Tours boeken kan je daar ook zonder probleem. Kortom ons zien ze hier nog zeker terug.

Nice stay for 3 nights

From the outside, I was wondering if this hotel was good but once in the room, it is worth the rate, not bad or good just ok. I didn't spend a lot of time in the room mostly for sleeping. One night in the alley outside my window was 5 loud drunk guys arguing fighting off and on for about 3 hr in the early morning. I can sleep through anything so it didn't bother me. The bed was comfortable good shower pressure and hot water. One morning the power went off on the 2nd floor so they moved me downstairs where the power was still on. It was fixed quickly. Had a pipe break so there wasn't any water for a couple of hours until it was fixed. it didn't affect me. There is a restaurant downstairs and many others in the area, Chinatown. There is a bar close by one night had loud music playing until real late. There is a laundry next door who does a great job and very friendly guy. Hotel staff were nice no English but not a problem. Wifi ok clean room comfortable bed no English speaking tv channels so bring your computer or iPad to watch downloaded movies or Netflix. I would stay here again, the rate was worth it.

Very nice staff and clean room. I had a doubleroom with 1 doublebed and a window on the upper floor. The restaurant downstairs serves local food and beer. Location is nearby the coast, all spots in town are walkable within a few minutes. I would book at John's place again!

Very basic, no cleaning room throughout the stay Overall consider ok, if dun request much Aircond at first night not cold, after complain getting fixed. Cold water supply in bathroom loose, after complain they come and fix

Friendly owner and staff

Good: Peaceful environment so at night can sleep well, Owner n staff r resourceful n initiate to offer me tips on where to go sightseeing etc. Have great restaurant just downstairs thus for ppl lazy to explore they can just settle their meals there. To be improved: nothing in particular. Maybe an overhaul on the system to link up the few different blocks of John's place rooms so the owner can manage it even more easily and avoid slight confusion to the visitors of the guest (they may not know which block to go to and some ppl r shy to ask)

Clean and comfortable to stay, but Friday night and Saturday night there will be loud music from disco nearby. The staffs are helpful, polite and friendly. They will greet us and talk to us.

繁華街に近い

繁華街に近くて便利。スタッフがとても気さくでいい。早く到着したら、部屋に入れてくれた。 価格の割には広めでまあまあ快適。１階が欧米系の人が集まるレストラン＆バーなので、ビールが好きな夜更し型にはいいかも。

Lovely owners, basic but good accommodation

Very basic accommodation but fine for backpackers. Very kind and helpful owners - we even got a free ride to the airport! Great food at Johns Place restaurant just below the rooms. The bar plays club music until 5 or 6am at weekends which was very loud and kept us awake so be warned of that! Rooms vary, some our small and a bit musty, others bigger and brighter. The owners are the main pull here as they were so nice. Great for backpackers on a budget.

Convenient. Close to eatery and souvenirs shopping

Comfortable and quiet place for resting as we were in Kuching for SUKMA2016. Daytime was hot and hectic but John's Place provide comfort with AC. Yesss! Staff was accomodating and friendly. Next visit surely.
