"Turned down the bed & the sheet was filthy. Covered in marks & hair! Staff did come & change the sheets but not pillow cases! Didn’t realise at first! There was lumps of dust on the floor as well. Light fitting over the sofa didn’t work at all. Had air con in the room (18 degrees) as it was really hot in there & when I got back the cleaners had turned it on hot (30 degrees). So had to start again cooling the room down! There was a mini bar, with no info at all. No prices or advice on if it was free. Our room wasn’t too bad, but friends room was so dark! & other friends had to move as the room smelt really badly! Breakfast was very tasty & amazing choice. & staff were very helpful & friendly. Free drink at the bar was a really nice touch. "

"A Beautiful hotel...Peaceful and relaxing. Lovely helpful, professional staff. Delicious food, breakfast is such a 'Treat' cooked to order, the best omelettes ever!! Fresh juices, fresh sourdough bread!...The space and ambience in the dining room is very relaxing. The staff are friendly and cannot do enough to help. The rooms are very comfortable, with lovely beds. The downstairs snug/bar area are very lovely areas to sit and have a quiet drink. The whole place is just very 'Special'. We are already planning our next visit!'......The grounds and setting are very 'Tranquil' & welcoming.10/10!"

"We returned to Ye Olde Bell to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary having held our wedding reception there 25 years ago. It did not disappoint! Whilst it has been updated it still feels comfortable and retains the character it always had. From the moment we arrived the staff were brilliant; friendly and helpful, they went above and beyond to cater to my special dietary requirements, providing soya milk for the room, as well as offering to amend dishes for our evening meal. Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated and the ensuite was large and well supplied with toiletries etc. The room was also quiet, despite facing a road. Our evening meal was lovely, as was breakfast. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order. We enjoyed our stay and trip down Memory Lane immensely and can recommend Ye Olde Bell."

"Car park is quite a distance away. Then reception isn’t with the hotel, I was distracted and tired and missed the reception as I saw the hotel first, headed to that, couldn’t get in and then asked in the bar Reyes Pinter me back to the hotel entrance, it wasn’t u til some other guests arrived that they Pinter out the reception back towards the car park. Annoying when it’s raining as they are not next to each other. This needs to be made clearer. Room was ok, a little more than a travelodge if I’m honest.room was actually cold, with solid floors and was woken up by people walking around in the room above. Who needs to be walking around from 2-5am!!! Breakfast was ok, told to sit anywhere, yet the tables weren’t made up, no cutlery or condiments, all other tables had dirty plates and hadn’t been wiped clean. Would I stay there again? Maybe if little or nothing else was available, I go somewhere else if in the area. "

"We had an accessible room which was clean and serviced every day. Bathroom was clean, but my partner noticed a slight leak to the toilet and that the sink unit was a bit loose from the wall. This he reported on checkout as both were minor issues for our stay. Breakfast selection was quite good but I didn’t like the dispenser for the jam marmalade and honey. As it could get messy and selection was limited. The cereal selection area also got messy due to the design of the bowls meant people were spilling over the side when getting their selection. Mugs were really not wide enough to catch the variations of the coffee machine. On two occasions I had to try again as the cappuccino mixture missed and went down the side of the mug. The main problem is that the accessible room had a small queen bed and this was not quite adequate. I think in an accessible room where the partner has to use a bathroom not suitable for them they should be able to get some comfort in the sleeping area and a king size bed would be more appropriate. Parking was excellent if a little expensive for a blue badge holder. "
