"We stayed here primarily for the location and the price point, and on that front, it delivered. The spot is great for exploring Outer Banks, and for a budget stay, we went in with reasonable expectations. A few things were genuinely fine — the bathroom, while small, was clean. The bedding and wash basin were tidy and well-kept. The furniture also looked relatively new. The breakfast was also a pleasant surprise — fewer options, but freshly prepared and tasty, which felt very fitting for the price point. That said, the overall condition of the space was disappointing. The floors were the biggest concern — they appeared to have never received a deep clean, well beyond what routine maintenance could address. We noticed dirt accumulating on our feet just from walking around the room, and when we wiped the floor with a towel, it turned completely black. This is not the kind of dirt that builds up over a day or two — it felt like years of buildup that had simply never been addressed. The kitchen also felt dated and rundown. Notably, there was no garbage disposal in the sink, and only one stovetop burner was functional — and even that wasn’t properly fitted. If you’re traveling on a tight budget and the location is your top priority, this place can work for you — just go in with eyes open. However, if you have a little more flexibility in your budget, I’d recommend spending a bit more for a cleaner, better-maintained space, especially if you’re traveling with young children."
