Our stay in room 321 was a great experience... just too short!! The balcony with an ocean view was so relaxing... also enjoyed the short walk to the water. The room was spotless, lovely coastal colors.. And the staff was very helpful and courteous.

We had a wonderful off-season Christmas getaway at the John Yancey Inn! Our room was extremely spacious and everything was spotless. The bed was so comfy, it felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. Water pressure was great in the shower. The larger mini-fridge was convenient for keeping beverages and leftovers fresh. The location is fantastic-- you are just steps out the door to the ocean, and likewise in a very accessible area for restaurants, shops, and groceries. The front staff was extremely friendly and helpful, as were the ladies running the continental breakfast in the morning. Great experience all around; we hope to come back and stay again soon!

Even though our first floor, parking lot view room was plagued by ants and the water pressure in the shower was extremely low, we're still giving this hotel 4 stars.The room looked to be remodeled and was a nice size with 2 queen beds. After we discovered the ants, the front desk moved us to a much higher floor and an ocean front room. It was perfect and we appreciated the upgrade. The queen beds and pillows were soft and comfy. Our room was serviced every day; we had plenty of clean bath towels. For breakfast, a number of items were offered: assorted cereals, make your own waffles, bagels, bread, yogurt, muffins, etc. The woman overseeing breakfast was very attentive and very nice. What makes this hotel a gem is that it's right on the beach. The beach area, in our opinion, has sort of a private feel to it. We would surely stay here again.

Very clean and very nice staff. We had some noisy upstairs neighbors, but that was at no fault to the hotel. Great stay with a beautiful view!

The hotel is clean and beds are comfortable. The room is nicely furnished. The bathroom is clean but a little dated. The toilet moves a little when sit on and faucet is a little wabbly when turn on/off the water. Breakfast is plenty, But the morning we stayed there was no meat and scrambled eggs supplied. There were only the hard boiled eggs. Overall it is a nice hotel that very convenient to access the beach.

I have stayed at the John Yancey before and have never been disappointed. The staff is always friendly, the facilities always functional and the property always clean and well organized, even in the off season. I rarely stay on the coast in warmer seasons, but if I do, the John Yancy will be the first place I try to book a room at. Probably need to do it in September, just to be safe.

Breakfast area was attended by a very attentive lady. Great job. Electric toothbrush was left behind by my roommate. They called and offered to mail it. Declined offer and they said it would be delivered to a homeless shelter. Very nice and honest of them. Thumbs up on stay.

room was not bad at all beds were comfortable but the first day had around 1000 ants in the bathroom called front desk they sent maintanince up ants were gone. 2nd night and 3rd night found 2 roaches and 3rd night for more crawling on me as i slept. Let the front desk know i was checking out early they did offer me another room but we had already made plans to leave. Was offered a discount but no refund for the last day. Was extremely tired due to not sleeping that not checking for bugs. This is not something the hotel can control i understand that but not offering a refund for the last day was less than ideal.

We were only there for a single night, but the staff we had contact with was pleasant and accommodating. The room was comfortable and clean. It was an efficiency for 4 people. Breakfast was provided in a large dedicated room with an assortment of offered items both hot and cold. For warm weather relaxing, there is a gazebo above the dune with tables and chairs and viewing the beach and surf.
