"Our stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Wellington was disappointed. We’re honestly confused about how it is rated as a 5-star property. We appreciated being assigned an accessible room upon arrival. However, this was the only hotel during our trip that did not respond to our request for a shower chair. The hotel looks quite different from the photos and feels noticeably older, with an unpleasant smell that made us uncomfortable. Several facilities in the room were not well maintained—water overflowed during showers, the toilet required multiple flushes, and the air conditioning was not effective. Service was inconsistent. We received a warm welcome at check-in, but later interactions felt less welcoming. The morning staff were lovely, while the night shift, who seemed to be management - felt so cold and unwelcoming,. Breakfast was average and did not meet expectations based on the reviews. The only positives were the convenient location and the comfortable bed. Overall, this felt more like a 3 star hotel. "
