I stayed at the Sonesta Essential in Blue Springs, MO, and unfortunately had a disturbing experience. I found a bed bug on my pillow, took photos, and immediately reported it to the front desk. Instead of a proper response (room change, inspection, or deep cleaning), I was simply given new blankets and told nothing could be done.
Sleeping in that room felt unsafe and unacceptable. No apology, no accountability, and no solution was offered — just excuses. I also reached out to Expedia for support, but the hotel denied any refund or compensation.
This situation shows a serious lack of hygiene, guest safety, and customer care. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and I strongly urge management to take this issue seriously before more guests are affected.
