「We enjoyed a wonderful short stay in Yorkshire and were made to feel so welcome in this lovely cottage, Sue really went above and beyond to make our visit special. Next time we’ll be sure to make use of the fabulous courtyard if the weather permits!」

「Check in was easy, the staff member on the desk was courteous and professional. Our family room was generous in size, clean and functional. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. We were in the area to visit friends. Not sure we would come to the area otherwise as its probably a bit far from the city centre to be used as a base for going in. But, for us, we will definitely book to stay again for our future visits.」

「It was the only convenient hotel that was reasonably priced on our way to Leeds, but was the perfect overnight stop. It was located at the small motorway services, the rooms were fine. As expected there is not many plug sockets but I always travel with an extension lead so that always helps! The beds were clean and comfortable and would stay here again. 」

「We stayed one night prior to a family wedding. The reception staff were very helpful and all staff were equally helpful. Could not fault breakfast, options covered everything and staff were again very helpful explaining how it worked. 」

「 This hotel is certainly outdated and in need of a refurbishment. That said the room was very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a lunch which was good with a selection for vegetarian and lovely puddings. This is an ideal place for walkers or cyclists who maybe on a limited budget but want privacy and a lovely warm bath at the end of a day on the Pennines. 」

「Very tatty, filthy and stained carpets in public areas. Dismal, flickering lights in corridors. Badly repaired hole in bathroom door. Holes in dressing table surfaces. No aircon so had to leave window open, which is just above the very noisy aircon machinery for the Shell garage next door.」
