「This was not a B&B as advertised. This was a grim, empty beach house where the owner, who lived an hour away, remotely answered the doorbell to tell guest how to find their keys. The only good thing to say about it was that the owner refunded my money promptly when I frantically was able to find proper accommodations.」

「This is an institution but honestly I'd rather have a drink here and sleep elsewhere. The staff were very kind and helpful. It was mainly that because of the awesome pub it is noisy until pretty late. More from people on the street going in an out than the pub itself. It was pretty warm so I needed to leave the window open for some air. It is in the middle of town and safe and clean though, only the partiers were a problem but I was there on a Friday night.」

「This was our first visit to see what it was like to give us future options and to compare it with Doxford Hall where we usually stay for short breaks. We are sorry to give only 4 stars for this particular stay, the property and room quality were both excellent as were the staff we interacted with but the stay was let down by a problem with shortage of kitchen staff due to illness. 「My problem is probably mostly with Expedia. I didn't tick the box saying that I wanted a pet-friendly hotel, but the staff informed me after arrival that all their rooms were of that nature, and they didn't respond to a request via the Expedia website for a pet-free room prior to my setting off. It was clear efforts were made to minimise the effect of their policy on cleanliness but nevertheless it wasn't what I'd have chosen, if clearly informed.」

「I only stayed a few hours, and I couldnt put anything down, I arrived late at night someone was helpful and showed me to my room, the staff played with my kiddo in the morning while she cooed at them (shes 1 year and 5 months) during breakfast! It was amazing, I an excited to come back someday!」

「No more than okay … Lowry stayed at the hotel in the 1930s … it seemed to be like it was still caught in that era. Like so many hotels in the UK now lack of attention to detail is have a present.」

They even let me know that the carpark was going to be out of use due to the local festival taking place in the carpark.
