"Very comfortable 2-day stay at Centrum Hotel. My room was clean and everything worked they way it is supposed to. Although I didn't have an opportunity to eat or have a drink there, the downstairs bar looked very inviting."

Can’t really beat the convenience of the location—at the very heart of Akureyri: shops and stores all around the hotel, even their iconic church is just a few steps away from outside! "The breakfast at Hotel Akureyri was fantastic! Waffles, eggs, fresh bread and rolls and fresh fruit among other delicious goodies! The hotel was in walking distance to many activities in the area and the staff was super helpful in finding a place for dinner. The rooms were very nice. The only negative side to this hotel was a lack of laundry service. When I booked this hotel in July 2025 for an April 2026 visit, the booking site said Hotel Akureyri had laundry services. They did not. But the rest of my visit there was amazing "

"Rooms are clean and have a view. Breakfast is good but very busy, tables filled up fast even at 7am. There were lots of skiers and families around with small children. "

"Great hostel, perfect location, very clean with plenty of bathrooms (which we were concerned about after reading other reviews). Staffless check-in worked fine. Oh, and excellent free coffee! Only complaint is that the pod was too warm, with no way to control the temperature apart from a fairly ineffective fan. "
