The strength of The Village is its excellent location to beach access and being located in Palmetto Dunes with Shelter Cove close by.) Units are old with old design. The nicest ones overlook the waterway. Studios are depressing and very close to each other. You are forced to keep curtains pulled to keep some privacy. Not the cleanest. Property is well maintained with gas grills and little children’s play area. Pleasant management.

Loved how close it is to the beach; just a 5 minute walk and the proximity to shopping and excursions. Didn’t like how wore out and dated the unit and furnishings were. Bed was very hard so didn’t get much sleep for a week, couch was wore out. However the unit had everything we needed for our stay.

The property was very clean and was not far from the ocean. However, it was advertised that there was a King bed in one room and 4 twin beds in a loft along with a queen sleeper sofa. We found that there was only 2 twin beds in a smaller bedroom. The manager of the property was very apologetic and tried to be as accommodating as possible, but said that the property was advertised incorrectly regarding the number of twin beds. However, if you only had 4 people staying, it would be perfect!

Resort lovely but administrative staff needs help

Resort was great but check in and check out was beyond difficult. We were told check in was 5 pm. When we got there there was no one to greet us. We called the number listed and were told to look at the lock box to get our check in packet. Where was the lock box we asked. At 10 Robert Trent Ave. Where is that we asked. No idea said the woman-I'm only covering. When we went to check out I couldn't find the check out time. Turned out it was 10AM. Called the hotel to ask for an extra hour or two. We were told the hotel didn't cover the property-we'd have to cal Expedia. When I called expedia, they6 said they'd have to ask the hotel. Hotel said no-guests were checking in that day. Seeing that there was almost no one staying there I don't believe that. Talk about a runaround.....

Spring Break Vacation

Due to airline problems we checked after normal business hours. We had a hard time finding someone who knew of our reservation. After two hours we finally located our arrival packet. It had the wrong car pass and the keys to our condo did not work. It was extremely frustrating.

Avoid the VILLAGE at Palmetto Dunes

I booked two nights at the Village at Palmetto Dunes, knowing that it was an older property, but I had fond memories of vacations here as a child. To say the least, we were very disappointed. The kitchen had updated appliances and countertops and there were newer tvs, but the units looked otherwise exactly liked I remembered them being in 1985. The same bedspreads, drapes, carpet, furnishings, etc. When we first went into the townhome, lampshades were askew, there was a wrench and paperwork left in one of the bathrooms, etc. The townhome had a "musty" odor so bothersome that we went to CVS and spent $15 on scented candles to cover it. The first morning we woke up to find 3 dead huge cockroaches in the bathroom. There was a giant worm crawling in the bedroom and a couple of bugs on the den furniture. To top it off, the power went out inexplicably in the den, kitchen and one bathroom for the better part of one day. What they call a pool is barely big enough to be a hot tub. An old review I saw called it the "ghetto" of Palmetto Dunes. Unfortunately, I have to agree. I think these are all timeshares which they rent out nightly when they are not in use by timeshare owners. I'd be very upset if I were a timeshare owner and my money went to this. Oh, and for the wi-fi, you must sign in every single time with a password every time you use it and the signal is usually weak.
