"The hotel was fine other than the fact that the earliest check-in time is 1500 and we arrived at 1520 but our room wasn't ready. This isn't acceptable when you have plans to meet up with people. Check out is at 11am so there is plenty of time to prepare rooms for new arrivals. There are two lifts but they both don't seem to work all the time. As this hotel was recently re-branded I would expect issues such as these to be dealt with before reopening. The rooms were clean and a decent size and one of the ladies at the breakfast buffet was particularly friendly & helpful. "

"The room was so small, and window was facing lots of pipes and noise was terrible Two people could not walk the room at the same time. Storage / wardrobe hanging the cloths was limited as there was a safe below, complained but they could only offer a room the same size, in the end we left a day early because we could not deal with another night"

"After getting checked in by a not very helpful member of staff and paying the car parking charge we made our way up to our room via the stairs as one of the lifts was out of service and was a big queue for the other one. We entered the tiny room that you get provided, checked out the bathroom and it was grim, full of mould looks like someone had peed in the shower and just generally untidy. Went back to reception lugging all our stuff back down the stairs to ask for a new room, was met with the same unhelpful staff member who didn’t even seem like she wanted to change our room until the other staff member stepped in and said to change the room. New room wasn’t the best either with some staining on the curtains which I don’t even want to think what it was and a shower which you had to turn off 4 times throughout the shower to let it drain, but we couldn’t be bothered with the hassle of going back down so put up with it. The rooms look very tired and are very small definitely not what you expect from a 4* hotel I assume they only get that rating from the rest of the facilities they provide? Went downstairs to grab our free drink we got given for the problem with the room to be met by a woman on the bar who clearly didn’t want to be in work that day with the reception we got from her! Next morning we got woke up by drums coming from downstairs not sure what was going on, but the rooms are no where near noise proof at all so I recommend bringing some earplugs."

"From check in which took 40 mins as they couldn’t find our booking, which was paid for in January. To paying for a meal where chips were hard and stale, did tell the member of staff but was told he would tell the kitchen, he pick up the chips and never returned, not would you like me to get you some fresh chips, nothing, reported it to reception, not interested, reported again the next morning and luckily got a decent member of staff Nichola I think her name, she refunded me my money. Breakfast was cold, day two went to make a coffee there were still water left in the kettle, the kettle was very dirty, the shower was dirty and rusty, toilet stained, the worse thing was when we noticed old blood on the pillow, that was the final straw we checked out and booked into the Hilton which to my suprise was the same price a night as we paid for this awful hotel, experia have been amazing sorting this out for us. I have photos of the things I mention here. This hotel needs the health and safety going in to access this."

"The hotel is undergoing what appears to be a paint refresh, so this probably clouded my judgement slightly. That said, the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The room was ok, but dresser doors wouldn’t close, paint was chipped and generally it looked well worn. The hotel location is great and the nearby restaurants are well worth a visit. The bed was very comfy so that’s a plus. Overall our experience was good, but could have been better."

"This is an excellent hotel for the price <£100. Everything is new, clean and works. The public areas are nice, the bar is excellent and the food was great. It’s very convenient for the train station and there is decent parking available nearby"

"Great stay again at this property. We were here for 2 nights for the ice hockey play offs. We had booked 2 rooms and the lovely gentleman on reception kindly upgraded us to executive rooms and accommodated our request for one of them to be made into a twin."

"We stayed at this Radisson again as we attend the Donington race meetings. The hotel is fine, price reasonable, but the £15 charge to park your car overnight is steep - and obviously aimed at those going on holiday from East Midlands airport. Frustrating as we are just parking overnight as we attend two days at Donington Park circuit. We use the lobby bar, but we don't use the Runway restaurant anymore (we go into Castle Donington). Hotel rooms are ok, but the 'hum' droning noise from the airconditioning or whatever it is in the bathroom is not welcome. It has been going on for a long time (we stay here maybe three times a year). So keep the toilet and bathroom doors shut. But the hotel is a handy location and does the job."
