"Very nice property with friendly staff, great location, and a welcoming ambiance that elevates the vacation experience. Highly recommended for visitors of all types; ours was a family vacation and this hotel made it so enjoyable."
"The staff was excellent and the breakfast was good. The rooms were a little dated but clean. The elevators were weird and a little inconvenient but it’s a small thing. All and all a good stay."
"Cute room that was perfect for our short stay in OBX. Check in was easy. The room was clean and neat. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the sheets were freshly washed (you could smell the detergent). I wish they had a mirror in the bedroom, as there was only one in the bathroom. The bathroom was a little small and outdated, but clean. The parking lot was small. We got in late both nights and had to park in the next lot over. We didn’t mind any of this though for the value. It was a good stay for the price, especially since dogs are welcomed. Thank you for nice stay! "
"My wife and I stayed at this property for a 4 day stay. Property was fairly clean except for a noticeable spill of some mystery liquid in main room that had not been cleaned before checkin. Staff were very helpful when approached for anything. The property amenities are weirdly arranged in a way that really inconveniences the use of the 2 pools, gym, and arcade. Although the suites have the illusion of privacy, they are conjoined rooms and the walls are VERY thin, expect to here loud children, full conversations, and other things."
Ocean Sands Beach Boutique Inn - Stay At the Beach
8/10 Good
"Overall, I had a pleasant stay. The hotel is pet friendly and welcoming to service animals, which was a big plus. One thing to know before visiting is that dogs are not allowed on the beach in Kill Devil Hills from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the summer. That’s a town rule, not the hotel’s policy, but it’s helpful to know.
The hotel is cute, newly renovated, and has accessible first floor rooms. Otherwise, there are only stairs. Rooms have a nice refrigerator, and a microwave is available in the lobby.
The complimentary breakfast is basic but convenient. Evening popcorn and cookies are a nice touch, although the cookies were overcooked and burnt on the bottom both nights. The coffee, tea, and hot chocolate station was appreciated, but the drinks were consistently lukewarm. The in room Keurig worked well for hot drinks.
The staff were friendly, helpful, and refreshed my towels and emptied the trash when needed. Check in is through a kiosk with a live remote employee. It worked okay, but I was confused when Expedia showed another night for about $120 while the kiosk quoted $375.
The pool area was very cute. The room had nice furniture, décor, and streaming on the TV. However, the floor was sticky and sandy, the shower needed to be wiped and rinsed down before use, the mugs by the Keurig were dirty, and the bathrobes had hair on them. Thankfully, the bed was clean and the towels. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would return. Thank you for the memories."
