"The property is beautiful, in a great location, and most of the staff were very polite and welcoming. Unfortunately, the room was a major disappointment.
We booked an ocean-view suite and paid about $2,000 extra for the upgrade, which nearly doubled the cost of our stay. We chose the suite because we were traveling with a toddler and hoped to still enjoy some time as a couple in the evenings, including relaxing and watching TV before bed. While the room did face the ocean, its condition did not match the price or expectations.
The carpet looked very old and dirty, with sections coming apart. There was visible rust in multiple areas, which may be somewhat understandable for a waterfront property, but the peeling, scratched, and deteriorating furniture made the room feel neglected. Under the bathroom sinks, the exposed plumbing was extremely dirty and very noticeable.
The TVs were outdated and extremely restrictive. Although the system claimed apps could be installed and inputs could be changed, neither worked. We tried both TVs and even attempted to connect a laptop, but nothing was allowed, so the relaxing evenings we planned didn’t happen.
This was our first family vacation, something we had saved for a long time, and the room simply wasn’t worth the upgrade. On a positive note, the food was delicious and the bartenders made great, strong drinks."
