"Room was nice. Staff was not rude, but not friendly either. Was a great simple place to stay in San Diego. The Vacation Club Presentation was not great and over promised on how gifts work. "

"This is a "boutique" hotel. We arrived at 2pm and they told us we couldnt get our room until check in 4pm. They have a bar/lounge and a restaurant right in the same property. We thought ok lets hang out. Nope. Restaurant was closed. Bar/lounge didnt open till 3pm. To me thats inconvenient and for your guest benefits maybe they should be open earlier than 3pm. They said we will txt you when you can check in to your room. We left to eat. 5pm rolled around, no text so we walked back to the hotel to ask if we could finally check in. So much for communication. Our room: initially looked nice. The mirror above the bed was dirty, something splashed on it, on the head board as well as on the TV. Layer of dust on everything, i.e. coffee maker and lamps on nightstands. We booked for 6 days. Tell me why they dont have any dressers or drawers? Two ppl living out of our suitcases because we couldnt unpack anything. The nightstand, two tiny drawers that were also dirty, hairs and other debri in them. We decided to head to the pool. 5:30pm we head upstairs to the 3rd floor, gonna grab some drinks and hang out by pool. Nope. Bar already did last call. We were told maybe if we went to the counter the bartender might still be able to make us a drink. Just does not make sense any timing this hotel has. 6 days, housekeeping came in everyday, the mirror, tv, headboard, NEVER cleaned and Yes front desk said they would take care of it they did not. Food/restaurants were good when open. "

"Very poor experience. Motel quality towels. Room was not cleaned despite putting in a request twice. Pool was closed without prior notice on check in at 3PM for a party that started at 10PM. Staff at every station lack basic customer service skills. Never staying here again! "

"No. Upset because I didn't know Expedia was with Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego Downtown/Gaslamp Quarter, SD. I wasn't prepared for charges for up-graded room, charged also for overnight parking. Very disappointed."

"Staff were helpful and friendly. We enjoyed that everything we needed was close by so we were able to walk everywhere. Starbucks, CVS and restaurants all conveniently close by. Plenty of parking in the lot ($25) we drove to the beach but, walk everywhere else. "
