Mountaineer Lodge

"This is a very nice facility with friendly and helpful staff. Our double queen room was large and very comfortable. It had a lot of spaces to put personal items. A couple of things that were unique and appreciated: 1. a boot dryer rack that can accommodate 4 pairs of shoes/boots 2. low level under-counter lighting in with motion sensing in the bathroom (great for trips during the night) The train tracks are nearby and busy, but they never disturbed my sleep. The hotel is super-convenient to the mall across the street were several private tour companies will pick-up. This meant we didn't have to drive to the ski lodge parking lot to get on our Lake Louise, Moraine Lake tour. The facility is very clean, and the carpeting in the hallway looked brand new. We took advantage of their onsite breakfast buffet. It was a great deal at $10 Canadian and had many choices to get our long days started off right."

"Clean but dated and untidy room…bed sheets were not well folded. Service seemed reluctant and not very friendly. The gym was good. Location- about half hour walk to downtown"

"Best location at Lake Louise! The cabin was perfectly cozy with everything we needed. Although other cabins are close, it was quiet and we rarely saw anyone. Bed and pillows slept wonderfully, fireplace stove was warming, soaking in the claw foot tub with bath salts was relaxing, and they had so many small touches that made the place welcoming. The view from the back deck was beautiful and peaceful. The staff was friendly and amazing with helpful information. They had a great tea selection and being able to borrow bear spray was such a huge help. We walked to the lake on an easy path about 1 mile. Highly recommend staying here."

"Good staff, Clean Room, Heat/Cool excellent. Continental breakfast was not up to the mark. No fruit (Normally other keeps banana/orange/apple etc.). No boiled eggs. Easy access to nearby places (right on highway), visitor center 2-minute walking distance, gas station, restaurants nearby. 8/10 Rate."

"We’ve stayed at this hotel a few times and the rooms are always clean and the service is very friendly. They have coffee in the room and a restaurant right beside the hotel that serves delicious Indian cuisine."

Ramada Limited Golden

"Really convenient location (good restaurant right next door) and overall a good stay. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and we had everything we needed. It's obviously an older hotel (furniture looks worn) but no complaints about the service. We stayed at the much newer and shinier Ramada in Drumheller the night before and unfortunately that made the Golden location feel a bit shabby by comparison, but it *is* a good option for travelers passing through."
