The staff are fantastic. The setting is spectacular. A few places need a bit of TLC like the room bathroom but you just need to embrace that you’re not in a big city 5 star resort it’s just a bit different and that’s ok. Do not drive up the emerald lake road without snow tires between November thru April.

We just got back from our anniversary trip. It was magical place but for the price there were major concerns. 1. A van full of employees gossiping on our drive to hotel was not the best first impression. 2. We got there early to enjoy lounge. Went to check in early. The lady was not too friendly. Said “you know check in is at 4 right?” Yes we are aware. Room was not ready. No big deal. We went to lounge. 3. We were only two in lounge. Had to ask about our check…took forever. 4. Got to our room…loved view. My husband is in construction and there were issues. Seemed like there was a hole in floor. Carpet had big frays in it and was coming off the floor. Bed was super uncomfortable…linens were nice. 5. We heard EVERYTHING from our neighbour's, made us uncomfortable to chat. We paid for more expensive room…so was shocked at quality. 6. Card and chocolates left for our anniversary is a nice touch. 7. Dinner…we ate in dining room. Our server a d hostess were amazing. We had scallops appetizer. The scallops were 27.00 for two scallops which were underdone. Seems almost raw in middle. I had tenderloin. Flavours were good…but tiny tiny portion for 60 dollars. My husband had elk…again the smallest portion for 64 dollars. 8. Again we were not told anything about resort, so we realized at 9 pm about pool table and games. 9. Hot tub was not working bubbles would not turn on. 10. Check out staff was unengaged. For price…not as magical as I hope

The staff made our visit. Everyone was so lovely, welcoming, helpful, and understanding. The room was beautifully renovated. The eton mess tart was the best dessert I’ve ever eaten. The property was gorgeous, we hope to be back in the summer!

The perfect mountain getaway. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Fireplace in the room with starter kit and unlimited firewood is really the perfect setup for a cozy evening inside after skiing around the lake. Breakfast buffet weekend was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend!

This was our first visit to ELL for a couple evenings. The room was ok… but I think there is a significant difference from revitalized rooms versus the “lodge” tier. The bathroom was cramped, low light and a bit damp. Cocktails at the bar were a little on the weak end. The burger was quite good, the pasta was terrible. Morning options of baked goods weren’t memorable, but the in room tea and nespresso coffee were appreciated. There are limited xc trails in the area if you are skiing and the lake trail as well as alluvial fan become destroyed from walkers on the tracks. Stick to the connector trail for pure skiing rather than skier setting. The hot tub was great as well as the sauna (be sure to turn it on as soon as you enter, it’s slow to warm up). Showers in the clubhouse building were hit or miss on hot water. Up and downstairs of the main lodge are great places to hang out. Check out the games cabinet upstairs (please add a couple packs of playing cards ELL staff) as well as some toys for little ones. I would return again and bring better local choices for beverages to enjoy while there, as well as some charcuterie, fruit and cheeses to enjoy in room. We ordered one to have in our room on arrival but it was underwhelming for the price paid. Other than food offerings, I think ELL is a great place to unwind and make a memory or two.

We stayed at Emerald Lake Lodge at the beginning of March, and it was truly a magical experience. Before the trip we were a little worried about the weather, but when we arrived it was absolutely gorgeous. There was so much snow around the lake and the cabins that everything looked like something out of a fairy tale. The snowy landscape made the whole place feel peaceful and unforgettable. Our room was very cozy, warm, and comfortable. The lodge provides soft robes and plenty of towels, which made relaxing even nicer. There was also a small table with different kinds of tea and a little coffee machine, which was perfect for quiet mornings while looking out at the snowy scenery. One thing we really appreciated was that there is no Wi-Fi in the rooms. It allowed us to truly disconnect from phones and the internet and just relax and enjoy the nature around us. It made the stay feel even more special. The outdoor hot tub was amazing, especially with all the snow around. Sitting in the warm water while surrounded by mountains and winter scenery was one of the highlights of the trip. We also loved spending time in the Main Lodge. The story behind the building is very interesting, and we were surprised to learn that it was built more than 100 years ago. It adds so much character and history to the place. We had dinner at the restaurant in the Main Lodge as well. The lamb was delicious and cooked very well. The chicken was juicy and soft, which made it a great option for kids.

This is such a lovely location, the scenery is breathtaking. But for the price and history here I expected a little more. The staff was attentive, young and eager but lacking in the demeanour a luxury resort generally has. The food was sub par as well, pastries at breakfast were day old/dry, and the three meal we had were either cold, under done or just nothing exciting… the rooms are sweet, compact an clean but dated. Bathrooms need a refresh. The shower fixtures were covered in caulking to hold them in place lol (rustic charm?) Again, it’s pretty. The staff are attentive. But I left feeling overall a little let down when this was a bucket list destination…
