「I booked this cottage through Expedia and received confirmation that my reservation was confirmed. I travelled around 300 miles from the south of England, while my elderly parents travelled from the north so we could meet there for a family break. On the day of arrival, I never received the promised key-safe information. After contacting Expedia, they were initially unable to locate my booking. I eventually obtained access details from a neighbour, only to discover that the property was occupied...

「It was a nice country side cottage but needs updated windows in some rooms and overall could be cleaned better 」

「The property was good, upside down property, set in a lovely harbour town. Locals friendly. Amazing ice cream shop. The attached fish and chip shop was very busy too. Parking was roadside, not guaranteed, opposite the property. We arrived at the end of the Herring Queen Festival, which was packed out. We struggled to even unload, but obviously that wasn't something we knew about prior to booking. After that had finished, parking wasn't really a problem. A few niggles with property but it didn't...

「The property is brilliant the castle is amazing. The owners are very friendy and encourage you to walk to grounds which is beautiful. Was very happy with our stay. The location is ideal 20 min drive to Edinburgh 30 min drive to coldstream/kelso to explore the boarders.」

「Nice rural location. Pleasant walk of about an hour into Melrose via Leaderfoot bridge and sight of Trimontium. The cottage was cold when we arrived. We used the electric heaters provided but they weren’t quite up to the job. Cottage could have been a bit cleaner. Good parking and WiFi.」
