terrible. no one there. wrong room. dirty. no answer when phoned
Terrible experience. I tried calling them many times before arriving to let them know I will reach around 9pm but it is always going to voice message. The office was closed when we arrived at 9pm. With no one to talk to we had to find a different hotel.

The cabins are clean and cute on the inside. Much better than what you'd expect looking at them from the outside. The cabins outside are plain and the grounds weedy. The parking lot is gravel. I suspect that because of the outside appearance it gets less business than it might with a little tidying up.
No AC, no WI-Fi, TV didn’t work, manager couldn’t find our reservation, horrible smell in office and our room. Price was outrageous for our room. Need I say more!
For the price, this place wasn't worth it! The door couldn't be locked. You could see daylight between the slats and everything was very dated!! 250 per night
The Branding Iron was a great place for our family of 5 to stay on our way home from Yellowstone. We had a triple bed cabin that had a bathroom with a tub. It was wonderful to soak in the tub after camping for 3 nights! Our kids enjoyed the large satellite TV. There was a picnic area with tables and grills which was handy to use for our dinner.
I paid for a room for one night in advance at the Branding Iron Inn in Dubois, WY. We arrived later and really tired from hard driving (10:30 p.m.) and the office was closed (understandable). They had an after hours number to call posted on the door and the last 3 digits were smered and could not be read. Is this by accident ? I think not. Manged to find a spot in town with cellphone reception and looked up their phone number, found it and called. Office did not pick up. Left a message on their voice-mail, they never responded. Spent the night sleeping in my car in their parking lot. Next day, they never called back regarding the message but saw fit to keep the money I paid for the room. Not a word from them. Poorest customer service I've experienced in nearly 6 decades of life. I never got inside a room obviously, but from the outside I wasn't impressed. There are nicer places in town that might even let you in the room you paid for. I regret not be able to leave a less than one star rating.
Hands down the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. No one was at the front desk for check-in; instead there was a number to call, which no one answered. Had to call multiple times to reach someone to get my room key. Rooms weren’t the cleanest, but could have been worse. One of the nights I was there some random guy got locked out of his room and started banging on all the resident’s doors to try to be let in, because AGAIN, no one was at the front desk or answering the provided number. It seriously felt like the beginning of an 80s horror movie staying here.

Only concern was the noisy heater which was probably older than me 🙂
I don't reccomend staying at this establishment. Very dirty, extremely uncomfortable old beds and pillows, bathroom floor sunk in and squishy, toilet issues, lack of smoke detectors, unfriendly and absent staff.
The first room was dirty, so refused the room.
The second room, the heat didn’t work. The bath tube faucet would not shut off.
Checked out did not stay for second night even though I paid for it.
We had no great expectations of the place as it was the cheapest accommodation in town. The cabins are old but well built. The bathrooms (especially the shower) are NOT nice at all. The shower and box need to be replaced. The beds are also super old and not very comfortable. But mostly, the Expedia AD was saying that breakfast was included, instead there was no breakfast at all. This place should cost $60/night. No more. Probably worth to spend $10 more but book a nicer place with breakfast.
I reserved a room , arrived at 8:30pm and no one was there in front office . I waited over 20 minutes and no one showed up . Had to call hotels .com and be relocated . Such an inconvenience for my family as I was traveling with my husband and three children
The actual manager was never on site to communicate with. This was a big drawback as I needed to pick up a package. In the end, the housekeeper attracted down for us and got it to us. She was amazing. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this place. It feels like the 1960s but very well kept!
