"I’m giving it a poor review because of the beds and how thin the walls were. We were going to stay for two nights but we left after the first night because the beds were so hard and uncomfortable to sleep on that we couldn’t get comfortable, on top of that we could hear everything our neighbors were doing. We couldn’t take another night off no sleep so we checked out the next morning eating the non refundable night lost."

"The hotel was very very clean, it's new so it should be. Check in was a little different, you need to down load the OpenKey app so you can get in your room. The tub was very deep, which is greet for bath lovers. There was a HUGE TV in the sleeping area and a HUGE (65-70 IN) in the sitting area. I don't drink coffee but I noticed there was not a coffee marker in the room, no blow dryer and no iron/ironing board. The bed was a little on the firm side and the pillows were comfy. I would definitely stay there again."

"Well, it was definitely an over priced hotel stay. The bathrooms in the rooms could definitely use some updates. The ceiling is very low in the bathrooms and had many peoples hairs stuck to the ceiling which was nasty. How the cleaners do not notice is disgraceful. The ceiling could be easily reached to clean it. The bottom of the tub was crumbling. No bags were in my trash cans when I arrived. I had to go ask for some. No apologies either. Also, you would think with all the $ paid to stay there that it would include guest parking but nope, they charge you $20 a day to park at the hotel. It is ridiculous. If they have to valet park your car they keep your key and give you a hard time if you ask where your vehicle is. I needed my coat out of my car and it was an act of congress to use my own key or be told where my own car is. The location is sketchy. It is a good size city not at all like you imagine being near the ocean, all you smell is car exhaust. I checked out the day before I was due to check out (4pm) but was told they would not really check me out until the following day (just so they could charge me more $). I asked for a receipt and was told they would easily email me one after they charge my card the next day, well I have called twice and still no receipt. Proper Hospitality is definitely lacking here at the Holiday Inn in Portland ME. I suggest looking elsewhere"

"Very disappointing. The property is very rundown and desperately needs some fresh paint. The room was large and comfortable but smelled strongly of stale cigarette smoke. The bathroom was not clean. Except for one person at the Front Desk, the staff was friendly. With some maintenance and TLC, it could be a very nice place."
