"Upon arriving early, we were told that our room was cleaned and ready. I asked for access to the room and was told that there would be a $25 charge to enter the room before 2:00pm. EVEN THOUGH THE ROOM WAS READY! It’s not about the money. It’s just a ridiculous policy. Way too busy with private events and conventions. From trying to get a seat at the pool, a plate at the breakfast buffet, or long waits to get in an elevator. I’m not sure if we’ll be returning. "

"We didn’t use the pool but the deck needed a lot of cleaning and the surrounding fauna could use some help from a professional gardener. The first photo on their website is not from their property and very deceiving. The property is blocks from the ocean and cannot be seen. There is no restaurant on site or even close. When we arrived to check in there was no one in the office. Had to wait about 10 minutes before the clerk came. There was a woman waiting ahead of us to check in and had been there for quite some time. She left to find another property. When I went to the office to check out at 7:30am it was locked. The room itself was very clean but sparsely furnished. There was a couch but no easy chairs. The first impression when walking through the gate to the property in our view was not a good one. Very disappointed "

"Showed up at hotel at 4pm check-in took 40 minutes standing in line, got up to my room at 4:50pm down to the beach at 5:15pm the beach chair staff acted like he owned the beach letting me know the chairs were only for hotel guests, I then showed him my wrist band, Then he demanded the chair from my elderly mother who was obviously not able to sit on the beach, there were 40 other chairs still out, I kindly asked for it to be the last chair he picked up, He had a face mask on and I could not understand him with his accent, We sat in the chairs for another 45 min until there were all picked up, so his harassment was unwarranted and unnecessary "

"This is a rundown hotel in a nice neighborhood. Hotels.com should look into whether their rooms live up to the basic standards. In our experience the room we got was very poor. When we complained we were "upgraded" to what we consider a normal room—on the 6th floor. We suspect the 6th floor is the only floor that doesn't have the likes of cabinets with water damaged doors too swollen to close. To its credit the hotel does have excellent staff who are working to the best of their abilities with conditions that will disappoint many customers. The free breakfast is decent enough, and on the weekend a raucous boozy smoking crowd gathers for poolside music in the form of singers performing to karaoke tracks. Thankfully it doesn't go too late if you're an early-to-bed type. We would stay there again if the 6th floor is available at the normal price. Otherwise, Deerfield Beach has many other nicer rooms in the 150 to 250 range."
