"We were warmly welcomed to this pretty hotel set on a hill lush with trees and flowering plants. The

is inviting and breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed a beautiful drive to Atenes along a good road (Route 3 through San Mateo) from the west, and it was an easy shot to SJO airport the next day. We had a delicious traditional Costa Rican dinner at El Fogon Campesino. Only caveat might be for someone who craves total silence. As in many places in Costa Rica, bird and animal sounds...
