Hitsujiyama Park (羊山公園) in Chichibu has an amazing field of Shiba-zakura, or moss phlox. There are nine different types of moss phlox that cover over 17,000 sqm (4.3 acres) of the park. Not only is the scenery amazing, you can enjoy the sweet scent in the air as well! *They are usually in full bloom from late April to the first week of May. *The closest station is Yokoze Station or Seibu Chichibu Station on the Seibu Chichibu Line. There is an extremely steep hill on the way from Seibu Chichibu Station so if you're not up for that or have senior citizens in your party, definitely go from Yokoze Station. It's about 1.5 to 2hrs from Tokyo.

shiba-sakura
I was about 2 weeks early for #shibazakura, most of them were still being planted at the time. I wasn't upset I was early though because if I wasn't I wouldn't have seen these elderly work together, meticulously plucking each old pot out, planting each new pot in. Took them about 10 mins each row and there must have been millions of them to be done. Thank you, behind-the-scene legends.

Comfortable, clean, easy, owner of apartment was more accommodating than was expected. Kawagoe area is good. Matoba station near Nagatoro and Chichibu and not too far from Ikebukurou.

色々と思うことがあるので、今後予約する方の参考にと正直に書きます。 完全貸し切り、一棟貸しとなっていますが、こちらの施設はオーナー常駐の宿です。 今まで色々な民泊、１棟貸しに泊まってきましたが、オーナー常駐、チェックイン、チェックアウトどちらもオーナーの立会いが必須です。 また、デポジット￥10000の現金払い、対面でのチェックイン、チェックアウトも初めてでした。 事前にオーナーから電話連絡頂いた際に聞いていたのは、チェックイン時間まで自分は2階の待機室で仕事しています、夜はいないので安心してくだいとのことでしたが、チェックインの際に色々説明を受けているとどうやらオーナーは常駐とのこと。 ...
