"The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The double sink and walk-in shower were nice features. Staff were very helpful and responsive. The only thing that was not of excellent quality was the morning breakfast. While the choice options were good the tastiness was lacking for most of the options."

"I stay at the Congress quite often and my experience is always amazing. This time wasn't I arrived early therefore my room wasn't ready so I took what they had no knowing the condition of the room The tub was clogged so while showering the water was filling up the remote didn't work so we couldn't watch TV the air didn't work it was extremely hot in the room. No one answered when I called and no one was at the front desk. When I checked out I wrote everything down and passed it to the front desk agent and he bald it up in my face. Although this was a bad example it's only one out of many beautiful extremely It is a amazing hotel with a beautiful view of the lake and other attractions so I will be returning"

"Overall, our 2 night stay at the Silversmith didn't meet expectations. I wasn't expecting anything fancy as I don't seek out "fancy" when booking a hotel. I just look for clean and comfortable with very good service. Unfortunately, this was not the case at the Silversmith. The room furnishings were rather worn, the bed was soft, the pillows were very lumpy and the curtains were not attached properly. Parts of the bathroom had been remodeled and were new, while other fixtures were dingy. The shower stall appeared to be a recent remodel, but yet it had mold and mildew. There was no housekeeping service provided during our short stay. It wasn't a bad experience by any means, just disappointing."

"The hotel and room was pretty standard for a hotel in downtown Chicago. There was water stations on every floor to fill water bottles, the staff was very friendly, and there was self-service check-in & check-out. Only negative was the doors to the rooms were very loud, louder than other hotels I’ve been at and it felt like all hours of the night and early morning people were coming and going with slamming the doors. Sleep wasn’t as great bc of it but not much you can control besides other guests trying to not let the door slam."

"The location cannot be beat! Central to so much! Door men were so welcoming! The only negative was the room was too hot and room thermostat didn't seem to make a difference. A roof top bar would have been nice."

"Incredible place for the price and with it being centred in the heart of the loop it had beautiful views of the red line trains all while having great amenities for a low rate. Would definitely recommend."
