If you're not prepared, airports and flying can be daunting. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks and enjoy a stress-free start to your getaway in Whale Cove. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a great experience if you bring the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a good book. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, remember to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The goal here is to be as comfortable as possible. Dress in loose, breathable clothing and take a cardigan in case it gets cold in the cabin. Pick flat, well-fitting shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your main luggage.
- A condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation. Doing foot and leg exercises while seated helps to prevent this developing. Wearing a quality pair of compression tights or socks is also recommended.
