"Centrally located but not right down on the busiest part of town ,so it was quiet. Recently remodeled but one of the oldest hotels with lots of history. Highly recommended."

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Avalon Courtyard Suites. The property is very well located: not in the middle of the town square but not too far (10 mins walk from the dock, 5 mins walk from the town square). The property is very well maintained with a cozy courtyard that has seating around a fire place. There is a coffee room that was well stocked with snacks. The best part for us was the suite and the views from the room. Will definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting Avalon. "

"Great place . Very clean and had beautiful views. Wall are thin and you can hear everything from the other room by you and above our room "

"We didn’t see the front desk staff much. The only time was at checkout. We had to call the number in order to reach someone when needed. They did pick up though when called. The air conditioner released black particles when turned on. By the second night it made a loud thumping sound in the middle of the night that kept us up. We had to turn the air off. When we called the number left at the front desk, they said they would need to reach out to their technician. When we returned from a day of exploring, it appeared fix, until later in the night when it began the thumping sound again. We liked the ocean view, it was very pretty to wake up to. The kitchen was spacious, which made breakfast and lunch easy at the hotel. The patio area was also a nice spot to relax. Cute place, just wish we saw the staff more often and the wish the air worked. "

"Not a hotel a posh hostel. No lift,no bar,no bread at breakfast only bagels. Only 2 loungers on roof. Room safe 6 foot high. Balcony on room 2 foot wide. Catalina requires a lot of walking. So if you stay here you need to be young and fit. Myself after climbing the hill and the4 stelps into the hostel I had to sit in reception before tacking the 2 flights of stairs to the room. No shop,restaurant or bar until you go back down the hill. Very expensive for a view but little functionality. Book carefully if going. Do not stand in line on harbour returning on ferry in rough weather. Many of us were hit by waves and were sodden. Hair,clothes,feet,luggage still wet on arrival at long beach."
