"Place is shabby, pool is closed but staff are sincerely wonderful and the place is clean even if it is dated. Very worth it as a budget hotel but the images are old because it looks way older in person. "

"I stayed here for 3 days. I would have loved to stay here longer. The staff was friendly and accommodating. There was a hot breakfast every morning. I enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. I have nothing but great things to say about this hotel. I would definitely stay again. Highly recommended. "
"Despite the property name that sounds vaguely like a chain hotel, I found out later that this a family business and I am so glad to have stayed here for that reason alone. The owners are a delightful couple who are attentive to their guests and work very hard for the success of their business. I made a reservation online at the last minute so when I arrived only a short time later, they didn't have the room linens ready for me. To allow me to check in immediately, they offered me a different room and I very much appreciated it. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. I was only in the area for two nights, and this hotel was the perfect home base for my activities. I didn't take advantage of the breakfast here due to my schedule, but I got a cup of their brewed coffee from Ember Coffee Co. each morning. I had great conversations with the owners (and other staff members as well) who helped me learn about the area and make plans to visit the wildlife refuge that's just north of Big Lake. These personal interactions are what make this hotel so special."
"My only complaint is there is quite a bit of traffic noise, at least on our end of the hotel (room 330). But other than that a very pleasant stay for the price, and very friendly staff. We will stay again! "
