Property built in 1881. Absolutely wonderful building, the architecture was amazing in both the hotel as well as the restaurant. We loved the fourth floor room with the skylights. Ildiko at reception was so helpful and friendly. We would go back to Callas in a heartbeat.

The location is excellent. And staff were lovely. But there is no AC and the room had two skylights, making it very hot in the room. There is a balcony but if you sit on the chairs, you are at the height of the cement balcony wall rather than at any view. For that you have to stand.

Nice hotel next to the Opera House. Close to the main attractions, public transportation, shops, grocery, and restaurants. Ms ILDiko at the front desk was super nice and she provided lot of great information 👍 The hotel occupies the top 3 floors of a 5-story building. It has been renovated in an old-fashioned style that gives it a special character. Enterance lobby area on the first floor seems sketchy on a first glance, but it's safe and lit. Breakfast in the Callas restaurant downstairs is simple but good and sufficient. I suggest adding more fruits and other styles of egg as well. Complemenary water bottle every day is a nice touch. Rooms have coffee and hot water makers.

We absolutely loved our stay at Callas House! The highlight was our room’s private rooftop terrace overlooking the beautiful Hungarian State Opera House—what an incredible view and such a special place to sit and enjoy Budapest! And LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! We were within easy walking distance of restaurants, cafés, historic sights, the Danube River and so much more. The Hop-On Hop-Off bus was also very convenient, making it incredibly easy to explore the city. Callas House has so much character and was a wonderful home base for our time in Budapest. Between the beautiful historic setting, fantastic location and that amazing terrace, we couldn’t have been happier with our choice. We would absolutely stay here again!

Callas house is an excellent hotel , set in a very old building, our room with a balcony was perfect, free water everyday and spotlessly clean, all top tourist attractions within easy walking distance. We loved it and will definitely return to beautiful Budapest and stay here again

Reception service was exceptional. Location is amazing, especially if you happened to decide to spontaneously go to the opera (we did, you should not miss at least touring the opera) you will struggle to find a more beautiful opera house anywhere else in the world.

We could not have picked a better hotel with a better location. Not only is this historical property beautiful and clean- the staff were superb. Breakfast included - your basic European continental delicious start to our days. The room was spectacular. The location was walkable to everything - with the tube and train stops very nearby. Restaurants and shopping galore around us. This will be our hotel every time we’re in Budapest.
