There’s nothing like listening to the sound of howler monkeys at night and the multitude of birds in the morning from a room that feels like a treehouse, but has all the amenities of a high-end resort.」

「I loved this place and wished I could stay longer. My room had a tilapia roof and it felt like a cozy nest. Lots of hot water in the shower! Staff all amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, super helpful. Tried restaurant twice. Food, service , ambience wonderful. Convenient walk to town and stores, bank, etc. Last but not least the resident cat Luna made me feel right at home.」

「We had a great stay at the West House overall. Good location if you want to be able to walk around San Ignacio (probably the nicest hotel in that area). The reason for the mixed review is that we had something “go missing” from our room during our stay. It wasn’t something that we would ever bring out of the room with us and the worst part is that it was inside one of our bags when we left the room, meaning someone either went through the bag and took it or it fell out during the room cleaning...

「We always stay at Maya Bella when in San Ignacio. It is clean, safe, great air conditioning, and convenient!」

「West stayed three nights in a stone house Cottage. The room has a large comfortable bed, a desk to write at, and a refrigerator. they keep you well stocked with waters, there's coffee in the room (not tea). All in all our experience at this Lodge was excellent but what makes it stand above and beyond most places is the staff who work there. We had positive interactions with several people especially the pool Guy who got involved bird watching with us even bringing me a book of local bird...

「The hotel was pretty modern and new. The double suite was very large and beautiful. It was a pretty quiet, family business and the staff was so nice and accommodating. It felt like staying with family. The food was delicious as well. The area is pretty isolated, but a short cab ride can take you to town for groceries and restaurants. Super refreshing and pretty pool, and the beds were SO comfortable. 」
