"Hotels.com call them, and the hotel calls it'self 4-star, but not accurately.
The grounds and location are lovely; great view of lake, pool, hot tub, sauna, play area, beach. The room was comfortably, if sparsely, furnished -- like a reasonably new Holiday Inn Express. But not perfect -- the TV didn't work (no March Madness watching for us), no facial tissue (a box, but empty). Seating for 1 in a "Premium King Room." And, oddly, only one chair on the spacious balcony, so my wife and I couldn't sit out there and enjoy the lovely view together. If you want ice, the front desk told us, you need to go to the restaurant next door and ask at the bar. Coffee is not available in the room, but in the lobby, but not until 7:30a, and as week and poor a cup as I've experienced.
But the service was pretty awful. When I asked about the TV I was told that it wasn't their fault, they were waiting (days, apparently) for "IT" to fix it. When I asked about the missing chair on the balcony, I was told that there was nothing they could do, even though I could see 34 identical chairs sitting out on the lawn (I had to go get one and bring it out the stairs to the 3rd floor myself).
So: Location - 4 stars. Room - 3 stars. Service - 1 1/2 or 2 stars. I think the problems were all the result of terrible management -- pinching pennies while largely indifferent to the needs of guests.
