"This facility is a nice, serviceable property that could be better with a little work done on it. There is only one elevator for the whole building and it’s slow and the lights on the buttons don’t light up so you weren’t sure you called the elevator until it did or didn’t get there. Pool floor was a bit slippery. Could probably have used someone to squeegee the floors in a few places. Small issues with the bathroom as well which I spoke to the clerk on. Good location. Solid amenities and a decent room. 7 out of 10"

Salem Waterfront Hotel & Suites

"Our room on the 3rd floor was clean and ready when we arrived. The associate at check-in was efficient, but unfortunately for us, did not mention that if we wanted housekeeping to clean our room, we needed to let the front desk know. In any other hotel we have ever stayed in, simply not putting the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door let them know that we wanted the room cleaned. We came back at 2:30 p.m. and the room hadn't been cleaned, and our call to the front desk educated us on what the hotel's process was. Another reason for the 4 not 5-star rating is the room in which we were staying had an older A/C unit, which was very loud when it kicked on, and the engineer who came to check it told us that to avoid the loud burst of sound when it turned on, we needed to keep it on constantly - also at a loud volume. Made it challenging to sleep. I have back challenges, and the bed was way too hard for me, but that's a personal issue. Just something for those who are accustomed to a more pillowtop style mattress to be aware of. The hotel is not actually on the waterfront, despite its name. It is a truly very short minutes walk to Pickering Wharf, but not on the waterfront and does not have a waterview. The location, overall, though, is convenient to downtown Salem, and there is a complimentary hotel shuttle to get there if you don't want to walk."

"Absolutely get this hotel for a seamless trip to Salem. It’s right in the middle of everything (even more so than other hotels like the Hawthorne) and it’s so convenient to stop by anytime you need the restroom (since they’re limited to customers only everywhere) or to drop off bags. Everything is a 4 minute walk away, and at most a 10 minute walk. The staff are very friendly and helpful. On our check out date, our flight didn’t leave til later and they will happily store your luggage to enjoy more of the town until it’s time for you to go. If I come back to Salem, I’m definitely staying here again. The convenience is just too worth it."

"Clean, comfy beds and nice staff.. my only issue is that I was surprised you had to pay $10 for parking in Danvers…not the end of the world but a money grab. I also thought the breakfast was mediocre… nothing bad or great but a little pricey at $18… I would stay there again in a heartbeat but prob wouldn’t get breakfast unless you have points or it’s included in a package. Easy access to highway."
