We arrived at about 6:30pm, the room smelled like stale cigarette smoke. The heat was off in the room (the temp outside was 5°F). We turned the heat on and then left for the evening. When we returned at about 10:30pm, the room was a little bit warmer but still felt chilly.
When my daughter started to get into bed, she found a large blood stain on the comforter. We called the front desk and the staff member said he was sorry and would put us in another room. He brought us the key to the new room next door. We moved our stuff in and, like the first room, the heat was turned off. We immediately turned the heat on, but it didn’t heat up until about 2:30am.
When I was checking out, I let the lady at the front desk know which room I was checking out of and also about the first room and why we had switched. Her response was “oh okay”, and then she let a man know who was also at the desk (who I believe was the owner or manager). She told him that the housekeepers would need to be notified b/c they only knew to clean the first room. Apparently the second room wasn’t on their list to clean.
When I was leaving, I walked down the hall past the rooms we had been in. Two housekeepers were in the original room. As I was walking by, I stopped and told them what had happened and that we had switched rooms. They both just looked at me and said “okay”. Some type of apology from the owner or housekeepers would have been nice. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate!
