"A great little guest house where the lovely staff make you feel very welcome. I’ve been coming to Pong Phen for 20+ years & watched it evolve from a typical Kanchanaburi backpacker place to the extremely comfortable GH it is now. A huge variety of rooms to suit every budget, a great breakfast included and some of the best food in town - can’t be beaten!! It has a nice quiet setting on the River Kwai, down a lane so no traffic noise, and the most beautiful sunsets over the serene river. Plus in 40C+ the pool was just wonderful…… Thank you to all the staff for their kindness and hospitality on my first solo trip. Hopefully, see you again next year!"

Their espresso and other coffees are outstanding. They have outstanding laundry service, which is inexpensive and high quality. They have bicycles. The pool is lovely. I always go to this hotel when I visit Kanchanaburi. This hotel is a hidden gem. "

"A really reasonably priced accommodation with a beautiful experience overlooking the river Kwai from the veranda. Feels very magical. Shame there’s not AC but manageable with the fan. Easy walk to the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre which I highly recommend too. "

"This place was conveniently located right in the heart where all the action occurs. This place is a short drive away from all the tourist attractions, including many restaurants and sightseeing places. If you need to rent a car, they have one available for rent. We got one of the bigger rooms which has one bedroom with a queen bed in it. There is a daybed in the living room. There is a kitchenette and a restroom in the common area. They have breakfast in the morning and free snacks all day. The owner is very knowledgeable and nice. The staff tried to accommodate everything that you need. Highly recommended."
