「Very large, clean and comfortable room. Staff were outgoing and attentive to any of our needs. I was hoping for a more authentic castle experience, but furnishings were basic and a bit worn out. The restaurant service was slow due to under-staffing, but the staff were all friendly and engaging and the food was good. Overall, a comfortable stay, but don't expect much of an experience.」

The hallways could use a fresh coat of paint, but every was very nicely decorated and high quality. We’ve been in Scotland two weeks and this was one of our favorite places we stayed at. 「Advertised as daily housekeeping but it was not. General overall cleanliness of corridors and common areas was not as expected. Very small shower. Assigned a basement room next to the kitchen. We were unhappy with the room and asked to be moved. They moved us to a slightly better room on the 2nd floor and charged us an extra $81/night. I would not have agreed to it but the basement room was too hot to sleep in. Neither room was very good. The second one was slightly more spacious. At least...

「Large, comfortable, clean and quiet room No creaking of floors or stairs. Tasty and well prepared breakfast. Fruit salad and really.tasty yoghurts great way to start the days followed by a tasty vege cooked breakfast. Welcoming and friendly host」

「This one surprised us, was not expecting much. Yes it is older (but so am I), but the rooms have been remodeled, very comfortable, spacious, and spotless clean! The entire staff were wildly helpful (front desk, bar and restaurant.) The street it is on is very cool. We would stay here again, it brings a different vibe than boring chain hotels or tiny closet-like European rooms. Felt like a family business and I am super cool with supporting that.」
