"We had Cabin #1 which had very nice and serine view of the lush tropical plants that surrounded the deck and hot tub. We were visited every morning by a hummingbird. Along the short walk to the river, we encountered their version of wild turkeys and steers, there we had a romantic lunch sitting on the rocks and enjoying nature. Be prepared for your 5:30 wakeup call by the howler monkey across the street in the trees from the hotel as well as the locals traveling to work, the hotel is close to the road. As far as downtown, shopping and attractions they are only minutes away. On a good day you can see and take pictures of the entire Arenal volcano. To eat, I highly recommend "Pollo Fortuneno" for their tomahawk steak...expensive but oh so divine! The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only thing that was an inconvenience for us (don't know about the others) was that there wasn't a microwave to heat up food or hot water kettle for coffee or tea, however there was a fridge. I will definitely return."
