"It was beautiful and the staff was wonderful. The only negative was the bed- the mattress was so hard on my bed I woke up with a bad backache and had to reposition. My travel companion said her bed was too soft. I wish we had switched, but I don’t think mine was going to be comfy for anyone!"

"The Fairmount is an interesting place. The old building has been nicely renovated, the rooms are comfortable and the staff is attentive. The layout is odd, with no real reception or lobby area to speak of. The location is great, close to the River Walk, but construction was going on in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, making access complicated. They had valet set up which was helpful. The rooftop bar and on site restaurant are great amenities. "

"Love the beauty of this property. We had a very nice stay. Room clean and host was very nice. Location was an easy walk down the riverwalk to shops and places to eat. Very quiet neighborhood. "

"Great crash pad for a big group, great location for downtown or the alamodome. Neighborhood is a little rough and noisy and the house is pretty old, but it's decebtly maintained and serves it's purpose fine at a reasonable price."

"Excellent hotel! The rooms with the separate living space was great to have, the decor was very modern yet inviting, and the service was great as well! No complaints except the shower was lower so I feel like a tall person might have a hard time. Would definitely recommend and would use the hotel again!"

"Frustration with a required high parking fee without an option for free parking. Wasn’t as clean in the common areas as we would have liked. The decor was dated and clearly old with some pretty bad wear on it. There is so much potential to be a great resort, but they don’t take the necessary next steps to be in the next level resort category. We enjoyed our stay and were appreciative of the comfort we had, but it just was missing something. "
